I been to this location several times, and the main receptionist on section 1 always speaks spanish to everyone else. My mother has experienced numerous of times when she speaks to her in spanish and she repeats "excuse me" and makes a face as if she doesn't understand. Then continues to talk to her in English. As a bilingual speaking person i always help out others especially when im at work! I never felt so disrespected and uncomfortable. Hopefully this gets brought up to her attention as it has not been the first time.

Staten Island University Hospital Dental Clinic has gone through many changes recently. Much of it due to the after effects of Covid, and also I'm sure budget cuts and an expanding Island Population. It is my hope that more resources, support and advocacy gets put into this much needed Borough Dental Clinic. Being as Medicare doesn't cover dental, and seniors on Social Security, and people on Social Security Disability, we need a fully functioning dental clinic now more than ever. I hope the local politicians and planners put more attention into this clinic.
