I’ve tried many types of holistic treatments, but never tried hypnosis. Honestly, I really wasn’t sure exactly what the experience entails. Dr Wright’s explanations, approach and professionalism made me comfortable to take the leap. It really was one of the most calming and insightful experiences I’ve had at a treatment. If you want to bring out the best in you then I highly recommend doing this, lots of personalized affirmations that I gained and can use over and over!

Defense Mechanisms are internal mental programs that you mind creates in order to protect your view of the world and your ability to feel good about yourself and your circumstances. While they can benefit you in the short-term, they tend to sabotage your trajector in the long-term. The most common defense mechanisms are denial, projection and rationalization. It's really helpful if you see someone professionally who can help you identify these self defense mechanisms and create alternative programs that circumvent the need for them.

What is the Subconscious Mind & what does it have to do with Hypnosis?

The Subconscious Mind is the part of your mind that is composed of a series of past experiences and responses that your mind uses in order to help you function more efficiently and productively. It's also composed of thoughts, beliefs, concepts and reflexes. It often influences how you view the world and how you reflexively respond and react to life circumstances. Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy are techniques that can bypass the conscious mind and insert suggestions, concepts, possibilities and ideas into the subconscious mind without the conscious part of your mind having the opportunity to screen, edit or filter them. Music, athletic activities, movies, television and authentic life experiences can also do that. But Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy are a strategic way to help present your mind with new options and possibilities for thoughts and behaviors that aren't filted through the lens of your conscious mind's lens that may be clouded by negative past experiences.

Why should I try Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy or Coaching instead of just going to a Psychiatrist, a Psychologist or a Therapist?

I recommend that you try Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy and Coaching because each one of these techniques and methods allows your mind to look at the world and your options, possibilities and choices in life from a different outlook or vantage point. People tend to make better choices when the see, feel and experience additional options and choices in life (as contrasted with the small set of options and choices that they normally use). When people don't see additional options, possibilities and choices in how they respond to life circumstances, they tend to make the same (likely maladaptive) choices and decisions over and over, regardless of the consequences. While Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy are more passive methods compared to traditional talk therapy (and the get past conscious defense mechanisms), Professional Life Coaching is a more interactive, solution-based approach that allow the client to see both the problem and the available solutions, options and opportunities from multiple vantage points. In my opion, Professional Life Coaching (by the right coach) can make a huge difference in your ability to see, respond and react to life in a way that brings you better results and greater success. Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of traditional talk therapy because just talking about your problems only makes you feel better about them temporarily. It doesn't necessarily provide any real solutions, depending on how it's done. I use Life Coaching to help move my clients past their comfort zones so that they can achieve their life desires, dreams and successes in a strategic, long-term way by building the mental muscles needed for a strong mental foundation.

Life Coaching is focused on treating each client as a unique individual with unique insights, perspectives, personality characteristics, coping skills, psychological strategies and life challenges and working individually with that client to help them become more resilient, empowered, improved, abundant, prosperous and successful in a holistic way. It’s also focused on providing the client with the methods, skills, resources and tools that they need to be resilient and to help manage and solve future challenges, issues, problems and dilemmas on their own (i.e., without professional assistance). Life Coaching can also be more proactive, action-based and solution-centered compared to traditional talk therapies where the client is sharing and the therapist is essentially just listening and interpreting. In my opinion life coaching also involves an approach that recognizes the interactivity and connectivity of different elements of the client’s life as well as the practical consequences of some approaches, decisions, behaviors, goals and choices. Life Coaching is essential because if you are not empowered to make the emotional, psychological, cognitive & behavioral changes that are required to begin delivering the results & outcomes that you desire to receive from your daily actions & behaviors, then the therapy being provide to you is being delivered to you in vain. Additionally, the vast majority of therapists, counselors and other mental health professionals only enable their clients to voice & communicate their surface symptoms. They usually fail to identify and address the underlying issues that have led to those surface symptoms in the first place.

During the hypnotherapy session, do you guide patients into a past life regression?

Hi. Thanks for the question. It depends on the client and what they desire. If they are interested in uncovering, recovering or addressing past memories or past experiences, then I'm happy to do a session that accomplishes those goals. At my practice, each and every hypnosis session is carefully and individually crafted to achieve the goals desired by that client during that session. Generally speaking, hypnosis should be focused on helping a client improve, grow and evolve in a positive and healthy way.
