I always enjoy stopping at this WV welcome center. Its clean, its pretty and the kids love running around the grounds. There is also a beautiful memorial fountain.

I love the welcome centers in Virginia and West Virginia - I'm from Oregon and the welcome centers look like a slightly bigger, basic rest stop. The design is beautiful inside and out, the bathrooms are clean, all sorts of snacks in the vending machines, and the information area has everything you didn't realize you wanted to know about the area!

This is definitely the nicest rest area I have ever stopped at in the great state of West Virginia. It's at the top of the exit ramp (if going north on I-77) and you take a right and then a right at light. Parking can be tough when it gets crowded and large trailers can have issues. I saw one dude take out a pet station while maneuvering his truck and camper. Now the compliments: The entire area is well done. Lots of stone. Nice picnic area with covered tables. Dog area is on other side of truck parking. The restrooms are easy to access and very clean with individual soap dispensers and these cool individual hand drivers at each sink. (I thought they were diaper changing platforms at first). Several vending machines inside. Huge room with tons of the typical tourist brochures. But the thing not to miss is the cool gift shop with all kinds of West Virginia items: blown glass, Fiesta dinnerware etc.

Just a quaint place to stop! Bathrooms are very clean too. I loved the gift shop with many Artisan gifts! I got myself a few.😉

Sorry no and what is that may i ask?
Common sense would dictate that: No. No that person should not. But even common sense mandates that: The only thing "common" about Common Sense is that it is not common.
Construction has the lanes down to one lane before you go into the tunnel
Yes. Once u pull in park its to the left of the building closer to parking lot.
I was just there in July and don't recall there being a statue there. I've been stopping at this rest stop for many years. They have a nice shop inside with beautiful art pieces. After a Google search, the only Clay family statue I could find was of her parents and it's located at the courthouse in Princeton. Hope that helps!
