I experienced a detached or torn retina twice over the last 3 years. I had a friend with a very serious retina problem so I was familiar with the symptoms and the proper sense of urgency -- quickly consulting an opthalmologist who deals with retina issues on a frequest basis. Dr. Wong's profile on-line gave me great confidence that he was the experienced expert that I needed. He helped me secure next-day appointments (despite a very booked office schedule) and he treated me professionally and respectfully. In both cases, I left his office properly treated and thrilled with the results! I couldn't be happier! Five stars!!

I was seen by Dr. Wong for a vein occlusion which required injections. His bedside manner was awful barely giving me the time of day. The last time I saw him was for an injection, at that time he looked as though he had had no sleep. He placed the speculum on my eye lid to hold it open for the injection. He placed it incorrectly causing severe pain. I reached up to move it because I was in terrible pain and he began to berate me for going near the needle he was going to inject my eye with. I tried to explain the situation to him and he continued with his yelling at me. Dr. Wong had a terrible bedside manner and thank goodness I never have to go back to him again.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Randall Wong. I was verbally/emotionally abused by him on July 22, 2020. His manner was RUDE, he did not want to listen to my health/eye concerns, he had no compassion for me, he cut me off when I was talking, put me down, yelled at me, and lacked any empathy. I am a very positive person. I always look for the good in others. I am not the type of person to complain, and certainly not on a public forum. However, Dr. Wong's behavior was so agregious that I would be remiss not to comment. I am a medical professional: a Doctor of Audiology. I spent my career in front of patients, listening to them, concerned about their health and well-being. I KNOW how a medical practitioner should act and I know how I should be treated by the medical professional that I choose for my own care. He did not come close to what is expected from a physician. . A few examples of his manner: 1. The appointment started with me attempting to give him some of my eye problem history when he said to me in an extremely abrupt manner “just answer my questions." Too bad his questions were not pointed questions to my concerns. At the end of the appointment, I asked about my cataracts. His EXASPERATED/MEAN response was that I never told him about my cataracts. (I had put my concern on my intact form.) He frankly NEVER asked me about the cataracts and did not want me to add anything other than the answers to his questions. 2. When I asked him about one of my eye issues, his response was that HE WAS NOT INTERESTED IN THAT. He had one agenda, I am not sure what, but did not care about my issues. 3. I explained to him, through tears, that his manner was rude. He explained that he is gruff and that he feels sorry for his wife and 5 kids. (The first step towards change is being aware of your imperfections.) I left his office and literally sobbed because of how I was treated. Dr. Wong did apologize. However, when someone is abused, an apology does NOTHING. Yes, I was thankful that he said he was sorry but being sorry did not make me feel any better. (For instance, if someone is physically abused and the abuser apologizes, does this negate the abuse? No!) Any abuse should not be tolerated and apologizing for it does not make it better. Unfortunately for me, I did not read his reviews before I made my appointment. Upon doing so now, I see I am not the only person that he has treated so negatively. Please check Healthgrades, Yelp and Google for reviews that also show the same behavior that I witnessed. I sincerely hope that no one is made to feel the way Dr. Wong made me feel.

Dr. Wong will give you the peace of mind, especially when dealing with your eyes. I use my eyes for my career and wanted to find the best one for my eye problem. Initially some doctors diagnosed it as cataract until Dr. David Chow pointed out I had a subluxed lens. Dr. Chow recommended Dr. Wong and his group. I felt a relief right away from the first visit and knew I was in the right hands. Dr. Wong just knows his stuff, and communicated right into the topic. In the day after the surgery, Dr. Wong called me and checked my condition. Now my eye is ready for a new lens. Thank Dr. Wong for saving my eye.

You haven't seen your doctor since January 2017? I don't understand the last part of your statement about the OCT XRAY. Randy
