After waiting 3 years we were so thankful and excited to receive notice approved for voucher. However was lost due to rental houses being over priced. We were able to find housing out of Washington County in a County over but we were gods required live in Washington County with voucher for one yr. Well if could found housing would not need to port out. Very disappointing the way the system treated us. Was very bad experience one that should been happy. We were told couldn’t afford the one house we were approved for by rental agent yet they said if wanted to rent on own that was ok. This is a Government ran agency that is suppose help low income families and they tell us we can’t afford a house with sect 8 but do in our own. Really?? Was always something trying find house. Sad situation. We ended up year later approved in another county and I can tell you was like day and night. Washington County is not place to be when need assistance.
