Excellent dojang and excellent instructors and staff. In 4th grade my younger son took a 4 week intro class and wanted to sign up so I ended up joining with both my sons. There are different levels of membership which determine how many and which classes you can attend. After about 18 months I enjoy the training more than both children, I think. I was nervous for sparring but found out that I really like that aspect of the training. There are opportunities to learn all sorts of weapons and to learn tumbling tricks in the tricks and flips class in addition to the regular curriculum. Testing occurs approximately every 10 weeks so there’s always a goal to work toward. I played sports in high school and college but neglected my physical fitness as an adult. I was happy to see other adults also at the beginning level when I began taking classes. It has been great moving up in belt rank with the same group of adults and has definitely helped me prioritize my physical health. Participating as a family has been so wonderful. I love having an interest in common with my children.

Great for families to get in shape both physically and mentally.

I've only been coming here for two months, but it has been a really great experience. The staff is very friendly and very responsive to all of my questions. I look forward to each class and appreciate the support and responsiveness I receive from everyone who works here.

Howdy, I have had a wonderful experience, now having attended as a student and as a parent of a Tiny Tiger for an entire year at Blackman's CMA. My child is in the Tiny Tiger's class (under five years of age) and I have been impressed with every one of the staff members and instructors, specifically, the cheerfulness that the instructors start the class with, how they cleverly trick the kids into stretching and exercises by having them do animal poses, and, what I consider the most impressive, how they get a group of five year olds to sit still on their designated 'dots' (they use colorful flat agility dots to provide a visual cue to the children on where to sit and where to return when they finish an activity) before the start time of class. A lot of care and thought went into how they designed the Tiny Tiger class for the right audience. I have seen my kid grow from one that couldn't even sit still for five seconds and the instructors would have to consistently sit right next to him to help guide him in the activity, to one that still needs guidance on occasion, but is magnitudes better at following directions and staying focused. I also have signed up and been attending classes for a year. While I didn't end up losing weight till I started also dieting, I believe that Blackman's CMA is improving my health and will help me have better younger years with all of my children as I get older, and for that, I am deeply appreciative.
