Very nice park. I didn't go on trails but there were pathways abound around a golf course. Multiple playgrounds for the kids. Foliage wasn't great this year but the same could be said everywhere given the recent drought plenty of opportunities for photos.

Great park with lots of wooded trails to enjoy and connects nicely down to the Greenway. Great place to start a walk into downtown Wilmington.

Too many people letting their dogs off leash and out of sight. Leash your dogs - my hike was ruined dodging an off leash dog that kept approaching hackles with no one in sight to even come get it.

Yes, of course!
Best place to park is at the Blue Ball Barn. It's about a mile hike from there. If you're planning on climbing, you'll need to get a permit at the park office in the barn anyway. There will be closer parking soon, but it's currently under construction.
Park office is in the blue ball barn 1914 west park dr. We have park maps ,you park at the barn or at the can do paking lot off of weldin road
There is no swimming area. There is a small Creek/river with a small man made waterfall where you can walk along the trails but no swimming...unless you want to just jump in but I would advise against it.
Yes, people often bring their dogs for a walk there. Most of the paths are paved and there's plenty of grass too. There are a few dog watering stations and occasionally there are plastic bags to clean up after them. Just be careful not to let them off leash. There are copperheads around, plus you may be ticketed.
You might be better off going to Rockwood Park it's closer and I took my family one Sunday for a picnic. As always protect yourself from pesky insects.
1. I've seen people jogging/ walking there. It's the same common trail for both way traffic. Not a loop. 2. Parking not available there. But across the street there is a museum. Probably the large parking space besides the museum can be used. Trail is less than 5 minutes walking from the parking lot.
Its connected off of trails that are right next to the Brandywine zoo.
There's a few different trails and they all are pretty nice. There's rock climbing and visual sites to visit as well. Unfortunately the park does close at 8pm but people still walk their dogs and hang out after hours at time
If you're on rt. 141 headed North and you go over the Tyler Mechconol bridge past Hagley Museum, you make a left. On your right is Dupont Experimental Station, you're going to make the next right on to Alapockas go in the left lane to go straight. You're going to make a right where there's a sigh for ball fields. Keep going and stay to the left at the fork and parking is down the hill. If you go right at the fork, you're headed for the DuPont Contractors Entrance.
No. I actually parked on the street right near the entrance of the park
