Great place to walk my dogs - in the Safe, no hunting area.

Nice campground, but a bit primitive. I liked it better when there was no charge. But the woods are pretty and there is a lot of interesting wildlife in the area.

I've seen the trails used for biking, hiking and horseback riding. I'd suggest riding after a nice period of dry weather since there are wetlands beside some of the trails.
These sites are ⛺ only. This is my 6th time here and all the signs say tent only (we use hammocks too).
No. There are homes around the forest that you can purchase to live, but cannot live in the State Forest. Camping sites available.
From my understanding, this particular area is free for camping but you do need a permit and im sure there's a fee but it may be a low amount and last all year.
I believe the $25 is a "security deposit" & you will get it back once you leave & if you didn't mess the place up or anything.
No, you can not
Yes
No ma'am, me and my family go there every year for family reunions and barbecues, and they have no electric, but they do have a water spicket & a little barbecue grill
Camping is free. All you have to do is stop in the visitors center, which is on your left hand side when you pull in. Register there and thats it. If you go after visitor center hours, you can register on paper right by the front door to the building.
