Go to your new york public library online account. Search for the book you want in the catalog. Click place hold and it'll give you the option to set your preferred pick up location. Once you've set that, they'll email you once your hold is ready to be picked up at your library.

Hi, you do not need a library card to use our available space to study and to browse the shelves. But you do need one if you need to use our other services, such as public computer, borrowing materials, and to access our database remotely. I think the library is open only to check out materials you reserved and to return borrowed materials. Even browsing the shelves is not allowed right now.
