PLEASE STAY AWAY! ALL THE INSTRUCTERS QUIT. They only have 1 left his name is Kona. GO TOUR THE YARD 1ST AND YOU WILL NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE. Students are given a pretrip paper and they throw you on the yard to teach each other. Thats the "academy" . I went 3 weeks without a instructure on Thursday and Friday. After 120hrs on the yard 10hrs scattered road time they scheduled my test at the DMV. When i go to do my pretrip air break test they failed the truck for air leak. Total waste of time. Nobody contacted me for retest date. I finally got ahold of the Branch Manager Mr. Fontaine. He informed me that all test are on hold due to CORPORATE AUDIT!! 1st time failed pretrip. 53 days i waited for retest!! 2nd passed pretrip but failed skills test. 53days i was away from truck because you cant go on the yard and practice while your waiting to test. So stupid. The time between test and the lack of teaching is very frustrating. My family was depending on me to get a CDL. Its discouraging and I really regret ever choosing to attend 160. Shame on 160 Academy(Phoenix) killing ppls dreams and its not right!!

This school is lacking structure. Everything is kind of whatever. I'm sure there's a better school to attend. This is a student teach student environment. It's understood that it's 100° outside. But the instructors don't really intervene and challenge your knowledge to make sure you're going to pass. And from what I know there are students failing. It's easy money if you're an instructor. They don't care about the students. Things need to be evaluated and corrected to make this a decent school. If they had competition they'd be ran out out business. Maybe even hire people who are passionate about teaching or maybe they need to paid more to get the job done. But then again maybe they hired people who weren't meant to teach and just there for a easy pay day.

If you fail 3 times with 160 more than likely you will be dropped from the program. They will evaluate on a case by case basis.

Does this school teach you with an automatic or manual

I was told you have the choice to learn one or both.
