Extremely poor customer service. Female banker was rude and lacks compassion. Tellers lack training and provide wrong information.

The new teller they have working was lovely. However, I’m not really sure why their manager Brooke is working in customer service. As other reviews state, she is unhelpful, and at this point, purposefully screwing with me. I went in to this branch to deposit a savings bond my father purchased for me in 1991. I have since been married and had a name change (although I have been with BofA for probably 10 years now and opened the account in my maiden name). Brooke immediately told me she could not cash my bond, because it doesn’t match the name on my account. I asked her what I needed to do, and without doing any research on treasury or BofA policies, she told me I needed to go to treasury.gov and figure it out. They would probably have to reissue the bond (you have to pay taxes on this, by the way). So I visit treasury.gov where it clearly states that if my name is changed, I don’t have to do anything! Simply sign the bond with both my married and maiden name. I go back to speak with Brooke - she THEN decided maybe she should actually do her research to find out with the policies are (Brooke, you should have done this the first time). Brooke tells me that BofA policies will allow her to cash my bond if I bring a copy of my marriage certificate. Today was attempt 3 of trying to cash my bond, again working with Brooke, and jumping through the hoops that are not actually required by the government. I hand over a copy of my marriage certificate. She again refused to cash my bond and told me I need my ORIGINAL marriage certificate. Brooke - you consciously made the decision the first time I visited this branch that you would be as unhelpful and as vague as possible. You went out of your way to make this process so much harder than you needed to be. I’m not sure what your vendetta is, but this could have been avoided if you had just taken the time to do the research in the first place instead of enforcing policies that don’t exist. You should have told me on my first visit to the branch to please come back with my original marriage certificate and I would have happily obliged. Now I will be visiting a (definitely different) BofA branch for my FOURTH time to cash this bond. Please try to be more helpful to your clients.

PUBLIC NOTICE: Please be aware....this is one of the worst Bank of America branches I have ever dealt with...at least this was my experience. I was told by BOA national 1-800# Customer Service that they could not access my mother's previous accounts to provide me with her 2021 1099 tax form so mom's CPA could complete her tax prep...that I would have to go to a local branch and that the branch could provide me the 1099 form because my dementia mother misplaced her form. Even though, BOA central had my POA on file...the Lone Tree branch manager said he could not do anything because the accounts had been previously closed. OK, what do I do? The manager gave me BOA's specific 1099 tax departments phone number and they could probably help me. I spoke with the BOA 1099 tax department and they had no problem accessing the previous accounts. There was one account of my moms that I was not POA on? The BOA tax department said for me to show the POA to the branch manager, have the manager approve this POA and then the tax department could release the 1099 to me on my mother's behalf...ok now we have a solution. I went to present the POA to the manager via the teller and the manager came back and said we have already had this conversation and he could not access this particular account because it was closed. This conversation was immediately repeated back the BOA's tax department and the tax department was flabbergasted that the branch manager would say this and WAS NOT WILLING TO HELP ME, AT ALL? The BOA tax department could not do anything until the Lone Tree branch manager approved my POA, which he was not willing to do at all...UNBELIEVABLE to say the least? Very disappointed with this Lone Tree branch. I will never do business with BOA, period.

Brooke Saxton branch manager never looked at me said hello or anything before declining my check. I then went to another branch that cashed the same check without any questions. Honestly, I feel being Latin was the reason Brooke Saxton did not cash my check. If you own a business like my son does and use Bank of America for Merchant or anything else you would do better anywhere else.
