After 18 I believe it's still required, but you can ask questions up there they are standing outside and they will answer questions but you will definitely need an appt to do the test. Impact takes the full 2 hours as a side note.

I made an appointment for a few months in advance but I still was able to walk in early. It opens at 8 but I got there at 5:30 am to start waiting out by the door. A line started forming after me at around 6 and so on. When the employees got there they took several minutes to open up. They came put with a limited amount of tickets, asked for people that have appointments for that day first, then gave the rest to everyone until there were none left. Several people did not get a ticket. About 20 of us and maybe 5 didn't get one.

The written test can be taken at DPS after 25yr old. Between 18 -24 you must do the 6 hr adult education . The driving test can be any age after 16yr old if they have held their permit for 6months. 18yr old or older can take the driving test same day if you have a appointment for driving test and have watch the 1hr impact video. Or you goto a third party driving school

They only take a few walk ins a day. You have to get there really early (I got there at 6:45 am and there were already 10 people in front of me) and stand in line. If you don't have the exact paperwork you need, they'll turn you away.

You can try. When I went 2 weeks ago, the guy that walked in ahead of me didn't have an appointment and he got turned away because they were too busy. They told him to try back later. I had to wait an hour past my appointment time.

Yes you do but they are out months before you get one best bet is to go early and wait in line to get a same day apointment you would need to get their by 5:30 am and wait till 9am for.them to come out and give you an apointment

I would recommend doing walk ins so you can have it soon rather than 3 months later but, if you do choose to do walk-ins then you are gonna have show up about 4:50-5:00am to beat the crowd similar to how you might wait in like to get into a concert. If you plan to walk in please don't get there any later than 5:15 because at the point you're proably just waisting your time.

In my opinion, scheduling an appointment is the best option. They might turn you away if you don't have an appointment when you show up. You should be able to get an appointment as soon as the next business day too.

After you take the written. You will schedule the driving test. Don't forget to do the drivers impact course.

Not sure I never booked it on the web site... I did an address update and they sent me the new card in the mail. My wife had to go in but we just did a walk in for her and there was no line. We went to the DPS by Lake Woth of of 820.

it's best to go online and it will tell you all the things you can do. the appointments are scheduling weeks out so I would look at other locations to see if there are better appointment days. Also, Lake Worth takes about 10 walk in but you have to get there early.

You only need one item from any of those lists. For example, you can bring your original social security card to apply for a replacement. The cost is $11. You will need to fill out a Replacement application when you get to DPS.
