I am currently a patient at the Mechanicsburg location after transferring from the Pottstown location. I know it’s difficult to understand when a review is just spewing hate, but let me just set the stage for you. Imagine waiting over an hour, 6 days a week to receive medication dosing. That is not an exaggeration or a fable, if you are thinking about attending this clinic be prepared to not be able to have a 1st shift/day shift position, because all clients have to work 2nd and 3rd shift due to the clinic and their staffing shortages. Clients literally bring fold up lawn chairs to sit in outside in the parking lot and front lawn due to the lengthy lines through the entire parking lot. Imagine standing in thunderstorms and snow storms for over an hour everyday outdoors due to the volume of clients lined up and the time it takes to make through the line. There are 25-40 people enrolled in over the phone groups where you can not obtain any knowledge due to everyone screaming. You also have to ask for a counselor, your counselor will never call you or will you know who your counselor is until you ask. If you are prescribed any narcotic medication, even if verified through your outside doctor. The physician within this clinic doesn’t feel comfortable having someone on say, Adderall or sleeping medications in mixture with methadone. So you can be on those medications, however you will never be allowed to have take homes if you are legally prescribed other medications, it is up the clinic physician and she won’t allow it. I understand the staff is trying at this location, however Acadia the parent company needs to stop accepting new patients at this location until they can service their current clients more effectively. It is truly sad that this is the only option for some clients, and this is what they need to attempt to deal with to get sober. I believe this location has caused great a many clients great issues due to their ineffective treatment. So I pray Acadia does something to help fix this location. Who wants to wait 1-2 hours a day to throw back a cup of liquid medication. It’s bad enough the laws surrounding methadone are stuck in 1972, let alone waiting that long daily for your medications. Very sad situation.

The staff is great but the doctor seems non existence there. I ask for a appointment just to check in and she just says no. Very unprofessional, she also feels very judge mental.

Excellent staff members who have a great deal of empathy, respect, understanding, patience, & who will actually go that extra mile in order 2 try 2 help others in whatever ways possible. Yes, I'd surely recommend this place 2 any1 in need of help 2 try & combat an addiction 2 opiates. The group's r also really good & actually interesting topics, which is way more than what c b said about other groups @ various or most other treatment facilities. U seriously couldn't find anywhere else, this high level of care, devotion 2wards us clients from staff, or feel any more valuable or excepted as a client or person in general, as how emencely u do here @ this place or umungst these staff members!!! And I certainly do greatly appreciate everything that they've done 4 me as well as what all they still continue 2 do 4 me & 4 others here!!

To receive care at our Comprehensive Treatment Center, patients must be age 18 or older, have been dependent on opioids for at least one year, and have gone at least 20 hours since last using opioids or be in a current state of withdrawal. From there, prospective patients can schedule an intake appointment, which consists of participating in a full assessment, completing intake paperwork, and beginning medication.
