Darlene the owner is so dedicated and knowledgeable. Her daughter works there too; it’s a family business- and that sense of family seems to radiate out to the whole rest of the business. My experience with the caregivers and office staff has been nothing but excellent. You can trust them to do a superb job.

.If I could post 0 stars, I would.I am heartbroken with a hole the size of the Grand Canyon in my heart that will NEVER get smaller. My sister was a quadriplegic with multiple sclerosis and was this way for 28 of the 33 years that she had the disease. In December I had to have her hospitalized with a UTI. She tested negative for COVID, then was home for a very short time before her second and third hospital stay. Between the first and second hospital stay, she was admittedly exposed to COVID by one of the two attendants that Right at Home sent out to care for her. The attendant in question did not wear a mask. The second time I had her hospitalized was when I discovered that she had almost 102 temperature. This was about 10 days after her first hospital stay in which she was negative for COVID. She then on the second stay tested positive. Had pneumonia. One of the evenings that I came home to check on the house, Right at Home called me to inform me that one of the two attendants exposed both of us to COVID. Well it was a little "late" for that by now. Three days after returning home from the second visit, she was impossible to wake up so I summoned the ambulance and took her to ER. She passed on January 12 2021. Again, one of the two attendants did not wear a mask and even if we had told her NOT to, she should have done so because it is company policy so I feel that the fault lies at the feet of Right at Home. Also, one her regular attendants broke an expensive Bankers Lamp that was Victorian that I got my sister for her birthday and neither did the attendant, nor Right at Home bother to compensate me the $100 that it cost me.

Right at Home helped care for my dad the last two weeks of his life. He was a large man and it took two of us to get him in the wheelchair- and he wanted to go, go, go, in the beginning. They were so patient and kind with him, and us, jumping in and doing whatever needed to be done. I was extremely touched by the level of kindness and caring. Tearra was concerned I wasn’t getting enough rest (which of course I wasn’t), Ashley was just a sweetheart, pushing dad around in the wheelchair wherever he wanted to go, I can’t remember the other caregivers name, she came in like Mary Poppins! She knew just what to do and managed it all SO well, they were God sent, our angels who helped us all get through those last days. I highly recommend them. And, I thank them from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

Yes. Every caregiver is employed by our local Right at Home office. To help ensure the safety and well-being of our clients, we perform a criminal history background clearance and then cover each caregiver with general liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Be wary of agencies that claim the caregivers are “independent contractors.” In most cases, caregivers do not qualify as “independent contractors” according to tax and labor laws.
Right at Home takes care of screening and vetting caregivers, and conducting caregiver background checks so you don’t have to. You can save yourself a great deal of time and enjoy peace of mind knowing that a team of experienced professionals has your back. Families who hire independent caregivers must take on the responsibilities of being an employer, which includes performing their own caregiver background checks, managing payroll and tax withholdings, and providing professional liability insurance. There are no backup caregivers for sick days, and it can be challenging to locate, hire and train caregivers.
