Spent two nights overlanding at this pass. Great hiking with amazing views!

Trail Series, Part 4 The “Hoosier Pass” Trail is located about 15 minutes South of Breckenridge, Colorado right off of Highway 9. There is ample parking and the numerous trails in this area are clearly marked. Our hike was quite peaceful until the “cool kids” from school showed up and reminded us of our inferior social status. This loop trail is just under 3 miles and took our Review Team approximately 90 minutes to complete. Speaking of our Review Team, this is the first one to include a canine member named “Jasper.” We asked her what she thought of the hike, the rain, and the hail, and her response was, “Ruff!” We consulted the Urban Dictionary regarding her commentary (not true) and were informed that her message was “ruffly” translated as, “Dude, that hike was rad! Please tell me that I also get a burger tonight!” And that’s…Henry’s Take. @henrystake

My dog and I had a great time. When we arrived there were 2 other cars there at 7:30 am. We hiked up the dirt road to its bitter end at an old mine overlooking a beautiful mountain valley. From there we made our way down to the small lake to the north. We kept follwing the trail to above the to tailing piles just west of the little lake and then headed back to our car staying north of the small mountain. With our little detours we hiked 5.5 miles/8.8 km, but the actual loop was probably only about 3.5 miles/5.6km. Suggestion the hill going down from the top to the lake is very steep. I can only imagine with the evident ruts, that it will be nearly unpassable right after some rainfall plus I could get very slick..... Also if you consider hiking here be aware of the weather in the summer month. Early morning is best

Gorgeous drive!!! I did Guanella Pass the week before and it was a little steeper and went above tree line. This stayed just below tree line and seemed to be a bit of an "easier drive." Road was in great shape! Highly suggest it!😉💚
