I was at Prairie State Legal this morning with my son. The lady at the front desk was not very welcoming. We told her why we were there and she informed us we needed to speak with Jerry Woods. She gave us a card and told us to call the number on it. Well, it ended up being the same number we had called several times and you never get through to anyone. I asked while we were there could we just schedule an appointment and she said no. How do you get help if no one will help you?

I’m extremely disheartened and extremely disgusted that they would not take a case for a disabled woman I am a full time caregiver to. The lack of respect shown by an “attorney” on her case was head spinning with not listening/hearing what was being said. Apparently crackerjack must be putting degrees in their boxes for prizes because this person was contradicting what ILGA.gov webpage was stating. When asked why the contradictory statements , we were only told “you’re incorrect”. Too bad organizations like this hire persons on who just don’t care about people’s wellbeing .

I can't get ahold of prairie State Legal. I am on Section 8. Every time I call Prairie State Legal, all I get is a recording, that you have to push a lot of numbers, and you still can't talk to a lawyer.

Lot of back and forth phone calls asking the same questions. I was matched with a lawyer who racially profiled me. Then said he wasn't going to represent me. Total waste of time! Don't bother calling this place!
