Called everyday for 2 weeks to just get put on the run around. No one returns calls and someone different says something different everytime. Finally after they get sick of you calling they tell you they sent a letter explaining they don't have enough staff to help.

Lost in phone system finally got through to be told a face to face meeting was not possible when thats the only way to get assistance with a contract. Will relocate as every place i called for help recommended the Office that couldn't help me. Several locations in different cities. If you need help move to chicago. This Was assistance filling out a storage locker form not rocket science just 5 minutes of help i Was willing to pay for.

It is best if you call PSLS between 9 a.m and 1p.m.Monday thru Thursday. A lawyer would need to ask you if your housing receives government subsidies and about your lease.
Cases that are not criminal in nature are called civil cases. Prairie State is the only civil legal aid organization in Kankakee County. Public defenders handle criminal cases and some cases in which DCFS is involved. You can also look up legal information at www.illinoislegalaid.org.
You can go to www.illinoislegalaid.org and look up information about filing a child support case. The information may help you determine where you need to file. Prairie State offers legal advice to low income persons who are representing themselves in court. That line is open Monday and Tuesday from 9am to 1pm and you can call 630-580-3300.
I am sorry but Prairie State cannot respond to legal questions in this way and we do not typically handle probate matters. The Illinois State Bar Association Lawyer Finder service offers a half hour consultation for up to $25. You can call 800-922-8757. You can also look up information about legal rights at www.illinoislegalaid.org.
