Was there WIFI? Yes, but did it work, not at all. Not worth it for the price... you get nothing but a mattress on a cot stand and a door that locks. Not worth it. No discounts.... even for its lack of amenities. I had to ask the front desk for toilet paper. There’s no perks for this hotel and they’ll charge you a convenience fee for using a card. Bringing your $89 room to $104 and change..... if I would have seen the stellar reviews before hand I would have looked elsewhere.

A lower-quality motel. The shower in our room didn't work, but they warned us ahead of time that it was the only room available, and gave us a pretty good discount because of it. Were just passing through town and just walked in without a reservation or anything, so wasn't a big deal.

What a dump. Holes on front and back of bathroom door, carpet so sticky and gross we never took our shoes off, no smoke detector and for a non-smoking room the pillow smelled like smoke. TV's picture went out in our room and was offered another room. Checked second room out and there were no knobs on air-conditioner so couldn't even turn it on muchless adjust it. If there woulda been any other motel available without outrageous prices (everything booked full) we woulda chose a different place.

My wife and I needed a last-minute place to stay on a weekend around Duluth for cheap, so we called Budget Motel to see if they had any rooms available. They said there were two rooms available, one for $55 and the other for $75 (they were really trying to sell me on the more expensive one). We finally arrived and the whole place looked really sketchy—beyond normal motel-sketchy—and we're fairly accustomed to staying at old motels. We then found the office door locked, which made everything even more sketchy as though they were afraid of being broken into. After being let in by one of the motel owner's children, the lady I spoke with on the phone helped me at the desk, except that the rates of the rooms were now $65 and $75 (she again tried to sell me on the more expensive room). She wouldn't even admit that she said $55 over the phone multiple times. So at that point I didn't even care if I spent more money at another place to stay than being ripped off by a little old foreign lady trying to make a few extra bucks at her janky motel. We ended up driving to Grand Marais and stayed at a much nicer place that was only slightly more expensive. Stay away from this place.
