Initial consult was great but they Dropped the ball on a deadline for work to be done for an engagement proposal. Contacted us a few days before heading out of town. Tried multiple times to reach the office with no return call. Was very disappointed in how this was handled. Had to go seek treatment for a temp teeth with another location so the proposal pics were done with teeth. They were able to get it done in time.

There are multiple ways to prevent cavities, the first of which is to spend at least three minutes per day brushing your teeth. It takes at least that long to get rid of bacteria that is living on your teeth and can destroy your enamel. Next, be sure not to brush too hard. It takes just a little bit of pressure to remove bacteria and plaque from your teeth. After that, be sure to floss at least once a day. Flossing is the only way to remove bacteria from between your teeth. Alternative care practices to prevent cavities include avoiding sugar foods. If you find it difficult to brush your teeth after you eat, then rinse your mouth with water. This helps remove food from your teeth. Sugarless gum can also help remove food from your teeth. Good dental habits like those outlined above can work wonders at giving you a no-cavity visit to your Richardson dentist.
The best way to keep your mouth happy between visits is: -Brush your teeth at least two times a day, floss once a day. -Use fluoride toothpaste and ask your dentist for a fluoride rinse if needed. -Stop smoking. Tobacco can stain teeth and cause gum disease leading to oral cancer. -Brush your tongue to remove food particles that cause plaque causing bacteria. -Schedule your routine check ups at least once ever 6 months.
Your toothbrush will wear out on its own, but if you are brushing your teeth twice a day for two to three minutes each time, you should swap out your toothbrush once every three months. The same goes for your children. Patients who have gum disease are asked to change their toothbrushes once every four to six weeks to prevent the spread of bacteria. Be sure to rinse your toothbrush in hot water to kill any existing germs on the bristles. If you’ve been sick, change your toothbrush as quickly as possible.
Lots of research now shows there is a distinct link between gum disease and diabetes. People with the disease are more likely to succumb to gum disease altogether. If blood glucose levels aren’t under control, you could lose teeth. Not only that, but gum disease can be a factor in raising blood sugar levels which makes it even more difficult to control diabetes. See your dentist regularly and follow at-home care recommendations. Should you notice any other signs of problems, like dry mouth or bleeding gums, talk to your dentist immediately.
For children, teens, and adults, a regular checkup should take place at least once every six months. Patients who have a greater risk of oral cancer or gum disease should see the dentist more than twice per year. A doctor will help you decide how often to visit based on your oral health.
When you suffer oral injury, the best thing to do is get to the dentist as soon as you can. If you knock out a tooth, follow these steps to save it: -Rinse the tooth to remove debris (don't scrub!) -Place the tooth in your mouth between the cheek and gum or under tongue -Never attempt to replace in the socket as this can cause more problems. -See your dentist immediately! Successful re-implantation is only possible if it happens quickly. -If you cant use mouth preservation method, wrap the tooth in a clean cloth or gauze and immerse in milk.
Dental diseases aren't often detected by examining the mouth. Real problems require an X-ray to provide answers that a dentist needs to create a holistic oral health plan. Through an x-ray, we can uncover: -Abscesses or Cysts -Periodontal disease -Infections in the bone -decay between the teeth or existing restorations -Developmental abnormalities -Tumors The earlier you uncover these issues, the more money, time and unnecessary pain you'll save. Its important to get them done regularly.
Choosing the right dentist should fall into the category of finding one that works for you and your family. Its important to shop around before making a final decision. Your initial visit to a new dentist can help determine if they are right for you. For example: -Is their office clean and organized? -Was it easy to set up an appointment? -Is the location convenient? -Was the dentist easy to understand when explaining oral health treatment? -Is the dentist a member of the American Dental Association (ADA)? -Did the dentist give you a good idea of cost before treatment was administered? -Was your medical and dental history recorded in a permanent file?
Visits to your local Richardson Dentist is essential to keep your teeth and mouth healthy in the long term. Dental health affects overall physical health as well. Visits can prevent tooth decay, protect against periodontal disease to prevent bone loss, ensure your smile looks great, keep your teeth strong and healthy, prevent bad breath by eliminating bacteria build up, and prevent staining caused by food, drink and tobacco.
Bleeding gums are a sign of poor oral health. In most cases, it's the onset of periodontal disease or gingivitis. Even though painful, brushing your teeth is the most effective tool you have against the inflammation caused by the disease because it reduces bacterial buildup, reducing the inflammation. You should see your dentist asap to rule out periodontal disease and treat any gingivitis occurring. Keep in mind, any chronic pain warrants a checkup with your dentist and you should check in before the problem gets worse.
When you whiten your teeth, you likely want the effect to last at least long enough to get you through that next cocktail party. Well, the truth is, it will! The length of time it will last for sure should vary. If you drink lots of coffee, red wine, or smoke, you should expect the brightness of your smile to fade rather quickly. However, a teeth whitening procedure can last up to a few years if you take care of your oral health. You can always do touch-ups down the line if needed. Be sure to reach out to a dentist near you or simply call Dr. Bodie’s team to learn more about the benefits of our teeth whitening services.
