Hey Syrena
I went to Timberline knolls for a weeks, it was the worst time of my life and left me tramuatized after leaving. They are not a theraputic or safe environment, its the complete oppiste and left me triggered and feeling unsafe coming back home. I left worse than when i came in to get help. This is a crisis residental treatment center not a safe place to heal from trauma or learn coping skills. The whole week i was there i had only learned 1 DBT skill, which was read off a piece of paper and not given exaples or talked about within the group. The staff to resident ratio was 28 women to 2 staff members you will hardly ever get checked in on unless you make a scene. They were short staffed and had severe residents who should of beenat an imparient treatment or taken to have 1 on 1. The phycatrist was horrible he was a character and very unprofessional. He had yelled across the room at a resident for no reason at all. This was the worst experince please dont send your love one there. You will feel trapped and they don't take you on outing or actives only if you are not a flight risk which is not on the website. The staff don't take you on walks, and will be late taking you to groups. Do not go here! If you want to leave they have a policy of giving a 72 hour notice that you want to leave so they can get your things together and paperwork. But remember they cant hold you to your will, so i was able to leave before my 72 hours. This program really needs work!!!

More traumatized after than before I went here π

My daughter was accused of doing several things she did not do. This other girl did it. So they still used that against my child. The call me at 1:30 P.M.and told me I had till 10:00 P.M. to come get here. I am in Texas at work. And they are in Lemont Illinois. She had been here 12 days. So I guess that's how it works. They get your money and then make up an excuse to send you home.

Ive never wanted to kms more then i do after what this place put me through. The staff were fantastic Amanda RN, Sam TCC, Jazmin BHA, and Lauren BHA, were the best people ive ever met i love them so much, they were all good to me and deserve the world. Treatment team wise, im sorry but it sucks. This place sends you inpatient for anything and everything they can Dont recommend unless you want to feel worse then when u went in. I had a staff grab me by my neck because i tried to run. And they had there knee on my neck. I couldnt breathe. Also had lots of my stuff stolen by other patients. So wow. Just wow.

Tricare is accepted for adolescent and young adult dependents, I believe through age 20, but it might be 21. Tricare is not accepted for adults or non-dependents. Tricare will pay for mental health treatment and substance use treatment for adults, in an inpatient or day treatment setting. I believe they also pay for short term residential rehabs for adults. Calling tricare and asking about what facilities are covered is probably the best course of action.
It depends on why a person is there and what lodge they are on. Adolescents have more items restricted than adults, you can call and get a list. If you bring something that isn't allowed (but is legal) it will be secured or kept in your luggage. Anything irreplaceable or high value should be left at home. Things that I would recommend bringing (beyond basics- clothes, hygiene supplies, electric shaver, etc) would be -Postage stamps, envelopes -Pictures of family/friends/pets -Activity/Coloring books (no spirals or staples) -Pencils/Pens (non-clicking) -Low Cost Art supplies -Books (especially recovery focused ones) -Gum and/or mints -Embroidery floss (or yarn & knit/crochet supplies for adults) -Card games and other small games -Fidgets (squishies, putty, spinners, stress balls, etc) -Basic MP3 player (like ipod shuffle, no camera or wifi capabilities) loaded with music, recovery focused podcasts, etc
They primarily focus oh n eating disorders although they also treat for co-occuring disorders. Their main focus is eating disorders. However, if you go for a reason other than eating disorders, you will find the programs to be very in depth and fitted well toward each individual person. They work hard to fit each individuals needs.
Pens,no metal,no food, colored pencils, paper, stickers, stuffed animals brand new in package, markers, pads, post it notes, composition notebook without a spiral, make sure the pens are stick pens not the click ones. Make sure theres no metal on the pencils. Calendar(they will take the staples out)watch. I hope this helps! My daughter loved everything I brought and sent. Sometimes it takes like 2 days for a package to get to a resident, but they will get it. Any other questions please ask ππππππ
Not generally. There are a limited number of single rooms and they are only used when therapeutically appropriate. Most residents share a room with 2 to 4 other residents.
yes
They are in network for a number of companies and will do single case agreements. The best thing is to just call and ask. The people answering the phones are trained mental health professionals and can provide referral as needed.
$1000/day and the recommended stay is 30 days so it would be 30,000 for each month you stay.
I don't think so. Nothing with a camera. I'm pretty sure no cell phone
Timberline Knolls is a shorter term facility (usually several weeks to a couple months, sometimes up to 6 months, rarely longer). It also bills insurance, it is not a facility that would be paid for with something like a state grant or special education funding. It's possible for a child with this diagnosis to be treated at TK, it's also possible a different facility would be more appropriate.
Good to know, thank you! Could you tell me what is on the list please?
you can bring anything besides like drugs or alcohol obviously, but everything you bring is given to the staff to look through before giving it to a resident
When I inquired about going when on Medicaid they did not. It was blue cross blue shield Medicaid. They do accept blue cross blue shield PPO though
If you are in the adult lodge, yes πππadolescents lodge,no
The youngest TK currently takes is 12. There isn't an upper limit on ages. Housing is separate for 12-18 year olds. Sometimes 18-21 year olds who are out of school may be housed with adolescents, but typically only until a bed opens up on an adult lodge.
It depends on your insurance. If you are paying entirely out of pocket, it is very expensive, over a thousand a day. You might be able to negotiate a lower rate, you'll probably still be paying quite a bit.
About 45 from O'hare, 30 minutes from midway. Traffic can double those times, though.
this place is perfect
Phone calls and mp3 players yes
No, they accept select private insurance plans and/or self-pay.
