We just got home from our visit at at Wildcatter! It was our 10 year anniversary and we cannot say enough about our wonderful time! The staff were all incredible and welcoming. We specifically talked most with front desk staff and John (who led us through activities). Definitely recommend and we will be back with our kids soon!!

Filthy Dirty. Julie at front desk is rude and non-accommodating. She honestly made this the WORST trip we’ve had. Starting with her inability to provide any form of customer service, then yelling at us when she was asked to please do her job, then the finale, her belligerent response to our in person request for a shower curtain without bodily fluids of the previous guests. There are many other places to getaway that are cleaner and appreciate your business. We had reservations at the steakhouse. We waited for an hour for our food. The waitress said our food was picked up by someone else. ???? Because of this mix up, we were served “larger portions” of their low quality over priced steaks. We both got sick to our stomachs later that night after dinner. The property is awesome with many cool amenities that you also have to pay for on top of their “ritz” prices. I would suggest buying a day pass to participate in the activities overseen by the cowboys, then save your money and stay at a more affordable and better managed hotel.

The views are beautiful on the outskirts of West Texas near Possum Kingdom Lake. While the people are kind, and the service is Satisfactory, the rooms are small and need updating as well as deep cleaned. There were no towels in the bathroom, but the sink and shower did drain properly. The Wildcatter restaurant was terrible. We frequented the restaurant for special occasions many times in the past, pre-pandemic. There was very little help, wine selection was limited the food was frozen or pre-packaged, (wilted lettuce) steak was under cooked (still cold) we sent it back and was returned still undercooked. The baked potato was only warm (microwaved) and not prepared to specification the first time around, it was just plain bad. When we asked to speak to a manager we were told there wasn't a manger on the property, nor anyone in charge to speak to. Our young server did her best. We asked to settle up, thinking we may be charged for just drinks and salad. We were charged for the total amount, even when we said we just couldn't eat what was served. We cut the steak up to take home to our dogs. I seldom post reviews, especially negative reviews but I made an exception in this case. All in all we were really disappointed😓

The ranch hands who lead all the activities were great. They get 5 stars. The hotel management gets 0 stars. If not for the poor service we got from hotel management we would definitely go back. When we got to our room the refrigerator and the fireplace did not work. They replaced the refrigerator fairly quickly, but they couldn't get the fireplace working. My wife specifically asked for a working fireplace when we booked the room. They were able to get us into another room, but it was not as nice. They also seemed put out that they had to shuffle reservations to accommodate what we paid for. The food at the steak house was pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend the breakfast buffet. There weren't a lot of options and the scrambled eggs tasted funny because they put mayonnaise in them. We made the best of our stay, but we will most likely not be going back.

Yes, you can however eat at the restaurant without being a guest...I believe you can also ride horses without being a guest...
Yes sir. We do take reservations for day guests based on availability. Please call 9405493500 to reserve your ride.
I think it was $30 -$40 for horse back and the same for shooting
