Be on time and comply with what they say and you will love it. (My mom is out of town this week and I rushed there as soon as I could yesterday and they know I have to get my oldest from middle school. No one told me they would be taking me off the schedule they had the amazing supervisor call me the next day. He is trying to help us stay on the schedule at least for my son to get his device we are desperate to try, but my other son also was thriving in OT and it breaks my heart they are refusing us this.) They have no mercy for other view points and if you miss one call/email. They have some excellent therapists, but overall they have failed our family. I had such high hopes for this facility as it’s the closest place to us that provides these services, but as needs rise for these services everywhere is so busy and it just becomes a numbers game. I hope we’re able to one day find a facility where the whole staff cares about families because honestly I feel at this point it’s personal since I always push back and don’t comply to everything. I’m trying my best as a single mom and yet they do not care.

My son received services here for almost two years and it was the best therapy experience he ever had! Wonderful, caring staff who are willing to work with you and around difficult schedules. We will always be grateful for the support and care we received here. This is an amazing group of therapists!

My daughter has gone here for year’s. If the time ever comes again I will forever choose this place for her to get the help that she needs. Every single employee has been so amazing with my daughter in every way I will forever be blessed for all the help they gave us!

At the conclusion of each therapy session, the therapist will provide you with strategies, techniques and written/verbal homework to complete at home until your next session.
Speech/feeding/myofunctional therapy sessions typically last 30-40 minutes. Occupational therapy sessions typically last 45-60 minutes.
The duration and frequency of your child’s pediatric therapy treatment is highly dependent on the results of the evaluation, the child’s motivation to succeed, and family participation. Because our care plans are highly personalized to each child and based on the child’s needs and severity of their delay, therapy duration and frequency will be discussed at the end of the initial evaluation and following consequential re-assessments.
We deeply value family support and education and believe that it is the key to success when working with our families. For this reason, we do ask that parents plan to be part of their child’s therapy session. It is important that you are an active participant in your child’s therapy to ensure carry over into the home/community and for the therapist to answer and address any questions or concerns you may have.
Please bring your insurance card and a photo ID. If your child has previously received services from another source, whether it be a different facility or the school district, bring a copy of any prior evaluations/IEP.
Evaluation length will depend on your child’s individual needs; an evaluation may last 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
Cook Medicaid requires the following steps be completed prior to initiating regular therapy sessions. The initial evaluation can be completed with only a referral from the child’s PCP. Pure tone hearing test (speech therapy only) Referral from PCP Developmental screener (ASQ, etc.)
