Currently I am taking sessions with Terri for mentoring, very impressed with her guidance and feedback. She has a lot of knowledge to share, really cares about seeing artists thrive and succeed. I would recommend her whether your just starting out and want to take classes to develop your artistry or are more advanced and want to challenge yourself this is where you need to go in DFW. Worth every hour and every penny.

Terri Tomlinson is an amazing educator and artist! I send all the people who ask me about becoming a makeup artist to her. Her knowledge and experience in the real world and upper levels of the makeup industry is an invaluable resource. Along with makeup courses on all skill levels, she also hosts classes and workshops to help people in the industry with all aspects of the business, bringing in speakers that address accounting, contracts, and other skills needed to be successful as a working makeup artist Terri has is a great supporer of the community! I recently attended a bridal business class there and it was very helpful! I have been working as a bridal artist for a decade and I still learned so much in this class, which addressed legal basics, taxes, and techniques. I hope to take many more classes here in the future.

I work in a TV facility and have been called upon to do makeup up for about 5 years, now...I've learned from watching, doing and making mistakes. There have been a few areas I just was hesitant to do, due to lack of understanding and skill in application. Well...I finally decided to take Terri's Basic 101 class, two weeks ago, and it was just awesome! I researched makeup training a few years back and was set on taking Terri's Basics and Advanced...but then, just recently, after another makeup artist (who is super skilled and so great) recommended Terri's training, I knew this training was for me....Her training is for beginners and already skilled makeup artist....both. Terri is knowledgeable, experienced, skilled, and professional. She is concise in her communication in knowing what is needed most....a strong teacher. Since completing this class, I've already started incorporating many of the basics and techniques she taught....which has made my sessions easier and have more of a flow, and talent looks better :) This class has given me knowledge and skill and CONFIDENCE in the area's I was lacking...Even though this class is titled "Basics" Class, it was very advanced with individualized attention. Terri cared enough to load all she could in the time we had together...to try and help make us the best we could be. The thing that helped so much was being able to do models and have Terri right there for assistance and to answer questions as needed. I asked a lot of questions and instead of just answering with the correct thing to do, she challenged me to think on my own, make decisions and to understand why I was about to do what I was about to do...this was so good for me! Just what was needed. Thanks Terri :)' Understanding color theory was emphasized and I thought I knew things about this, but I just realized how much I didn't know. I have just been using the colors I have and making it work. Now I see colors ...pinks verses orange red, yellow, blues, color correcting under eyes....I feel strong in this area now....now to use it and grow more :) Terri also covered application techniques, business, and how to get started in the business, grow and ground in the field. This training was invaluable for me and I plan to take more from Terri. It's was worth it...so happy I took the step to grow and become better. Laid foundations and basics I will carry with me, always. Thanks Terri :)

Terri is an amazing makeup educator! I have taken several classes with her from color theory to hair styling for makeup artist to airbrushing. I cannot express how patient she is with students. If you have been thinking of taking a class with her...DO IT! You will not regret it. She keeps her classes small and personable. Terri gives so much valuable information you cannot find anywhere else.
