Very expensive here. Staff could not care less about what they are doing to your budget. Once you run out of money you have to leave as they do not accept or keep state medical care programs. Facility looks nice and the working staff tries hard but the front office is just in it for the money.

The staff has been excellent, especially after my Mom passed and my father's cognitive acuity declined rapidly. They have been very accommodating and have shown genuine compassion and caring. I visit just about every weekend and see that residents are treated very well, overall. Is Sunrise of Chandler perfect? No. But is any place? Going into this, my family approached the Assisted Living Facility concept with the understanding that it is neither a hospital nor a hotel. If there is ever something critical that is needed, staff contacts me and makes recommendations. Communication in general is frequent concerning his care, which I greatly appreciate. Most importantly, my Dad is happy (as happy as he can be without my Mom). He recently talked about a concert that was put on there that he loved. He enjoys the food (raves about the chocolate ice cream) and certainly is enamored with the staff dogs - Hero and Nugget - who bring joy to everyone they encounter. I'm glad he's at Sunrise of Chandler and certainly feel like he's in the right place. Pam, Karen, Jackie, Kristal and quite a few others are all big contributors to my peace of mind.

Hope you enjoy theater, because this place is just that, and only that. They make it look very nice appearance wise, but the actual care provided is borderline elder abuse. From my experience working here, you can expect your relatives to go largely ignored and unattended. Sunrise as a company likes to run ghost crews, around 4-5 caregivers a shift divided amongst 70-80 residents. The biggest complaint i heard here was " i can never get someone when i hit my button". That is because, especially at night, the facility isnt fully staffed. I have seen some of your parents and siblings covered in fences and left for hours to lay in it. I have seen them asleep on the floor, because they fell and no one came. I have seen them left in their rooms to miss meals. All because sunrise refuses to fully staff. They cant fully staff because they offer a lower wage and worse benefits than you could get at the nearest fast food joint. All while sunrise makes a record profit, this specific location takes in over two million a year and i can promise you that money doesn't go back into providing the service you sign up for. In a perfect world this place would have been shut down. Make no mistake, if you leave someone here you are essentially putting them in human storage. Anyone telling you this place is nice either A)Doesn't care B) isn't looking very hard C) has been fooled by the pretty decor. If you dont believe me, look into it yourself. Sunrise as a company has been sued dozens of times for the exact behavior happening here. The company, while toting this "ma and pa founded sunrise with a smile and good intentions" conveniently dont mention the company being bought out years ago. It is the McDonald's of healthcare and it acts like it. I cannot reccomend enough, if you have a family member here take them somewhere else. Or at the very least install some kind of recording device and you'll be able to understand what i mean.

There are so many wonderful attributes about Sunrise of Chandler. To summarize, they are concerned with the most import area's of our mother's well-being: her comfort, cleanliness, and consistent/constant attentiveness to her care.
