We love PKSP. It is one of our favorite spots for family fun. We are here annually to bask in the sunshine and dip in the water. There is always wildlife to admire. We saw raccoons, deer, skunk, armadillos and a variety of birds.

Our first stop on our camping trip, water was at a cool temperature but felt really. Campsite was very nice with shade on both sides. Hike was the one in the campground and it was good. Rented a party barge for one morning and seen Hells Gate..

Our first visit to PK lake. Had a good time despite the heat. Campsite 109 was fairly shady, had gazebo, fire ring, grill, and direct access to the lake. Climbing down about 15' of rocky slope was aided by the rope we happened to bring along, highly recommend. Also had pool floaties tied to a rock with paracord so we could relax and stay cool. Too hot to hike. We saw deer, ducks, egrets, a snake, skunk, raccoon and heard hogs and coyotes. Bathrooms and showers were ok. The store at Pk is not reliable for ice, bring extra, it's a long drive to nearest store. Bring firewood. Keep food in your car and trash dumped every night, to avoid furry visitors. Awakening to the beautiful sunrise was a highlight of this trip.

We stayed in #66 for one night. From the pictures it looks pretty cool and tucked away. We did not have a very good time, and I think I’m done camping, but that’s not to say everyone would have a bad time. If you’re older and a fall risk, this may not be the site for you, but if you do find yourself in this one take a hiking stick it will help. There’s only room for one big tent, but the ground is very hard so I recommend taking cots or a tall air mattress. I think this sight might be best suited for a young couple who are good with taking a trail that has loose rocks. Off the path is filled with cactus for warning. Also I suggest taking a card table as the electric and water are away from the campsite and over by where you park your car. Also this site has a grill on the ground and not a stand up one. If you’re in an RV, judge for yourself because I don’t know anything about that type of camping experience. You are in easy walking distance to the bathroom. The stall area was pretty clean, I had showered before going on the trip and left early the next morning so I can’t tell you about the showering conditions. You are not within easy walking distance to the water. You are at the bottom of a trail so you might have a few people asking to cut though your camp. They were nice though. Oh and there are a bunch of little black bugs that will sting, but apparently only if you mess with them (one landed on the side of my shirt and I didn’t know it and put my arm down and it stung me). The positives are that it’s shady and awesome stargazing.

I didn't see any at the state park but they may be able to point you in the right direction. They were all very nice.
Yes. Anything from Primitive sites, no water or electric. Expect a hike to get to them, they also have sites with water only which were about $20 night total. And sites with electric and water.
Yes, there's designated areas for that. The front office can direct you to the designated location.
Campfires are allowed, for tent camping check out camp sites 99 and 100, I think they are a couple of the best spots.
Sure is <3 nice little shaded areas to sit as well :)
The only place I could find minnows at the lake two weeks ago was at Possum Hollow. I had bought the last dozen they had so I would call ahead if I were you. I ended up driving to a bait shop at Graham lake. Good luck.
I have no idea. We RVed camped. I would go on their website and look.
If you can reserve space 58, 61, 64, 67 and 68 in Shady Grove they all back up to a large grassy area with a bathroom close by. We have had family gatherings there for years.
No
Not sure beaching is allowed but they do rent boats slips.
Lake level is 995. Not sure of highest peak.
Guns are allowed in the park. If you discharge the gun they will write you a ticket
The store in the park closes at 6 pm M~F So it's best to go into the deep with full cylinder... And all the necessary amenities needed....bc the park store and the nearest store Bass Hollow are all very pricey. But since we plan a lot before going to the camping... Plan for camping with the valuable information that you have to drive 30~40 miles to get to the nearest malls... Anything. <40 is gas station convenience store... We made mistake... Did nt checked the area... Thought it would be similar to Dinasaur valley prk
Hotels are 25 miles away. There are cabins in the park. Must make reservations. Or, camp.
Go to texas parks look uner reservations Choose your park and cabins Its a easy site to follow
I saw as many as 4 at once. I think it just depends on what fits in your space.
Yes.
Yes fresh water. Very nice.
Yes there are a lot of trees. Yes they have a lot of sites for RVs
They're not falling for your extended warranty scam again.
There are a variety of cabins for rent. You may want to book early as you can. They fill up fast.
Yes
About 100 total camp sites.
great spots on lake available. first come first serve
It depends on which sites you choose to stay at since they have a couple of different options from sites with no electricity or running water two sites that have both. When you first get there they have the pricing listed and also provide a pamphlet for you. You can try to call the park to obtain that pricing to make sure it hasn't changed. If you arrive after a certain time then there isn't a charge until the next day if you decide to stay.
Yes! And there is no extra charge.
They have pits at all of the campsites for any sort of fire. You are not allowed to have a fire outside of these pits anywhere in the state park.
WE WERE TALKING ABOUT CAMPING AT THE STATE PARK AND TAKING OUR BOAT TO WACTH THE FIREWORKS AND WANTED TO KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK TO GET THERE
If you come often purchase an annual pass. With the pass, you can enter as many parks as you want with a car full. The pass covers you.
They do, water and electric. We have a 40' class A and had no problems. The dump station is in a different section of the park and was tight to use for our 40'.
You jst have to pay the daily entrance fee.
Super clean showers and toilets.
Yes they do, a limited number. Over by the park store. Also if you get a site on the water your problem is solved.
Last time I was there they rented them. Google the park and call.
