Terrible terrible customer service. If I could give a negative star rating I would. They don't easily return emails, or phone calls. I have been trying to fix an application error for 6 months. Yes, 6 months! I actually had someone reply back to an email after 4 months and I replied back and still (1 month later) haven't heard anything. I have tried calling and leaving messages at least 6 times and have sent countless emails. I live out of state so going to an office is not feasible

Unprofessional. All the ladies that are supposed to help us with the e documents are unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. The analyst are also unprofessional. I applied for a middle school science teaching license and I went through a lot of difficulties only because they are unprofessional and they do not like to listen your explanation. I am a biology and chemistry teacher, I have a master of science and PhD and I have worked as a teacher for 14 years but I was told from the analyst that all my diplomas are not for education but for science which is not true. I wanted to share with them all the courses description and let them know that everything I have done is related to education but it was impossible because no one listen to you. The ladies were very rude and they said to me don’t speak more we are done with you. I was shocked with her answer, unfortunately I couldn’t see her name because I wanted to sue her for that answer. With the analyst the only way to communicate is through private messages. They required me to do couple of courses and I did everything that they required. It was crazy because they required me to do 3 semester credits educational research when for this course I have 13 semester credits and all are equivalent here in USA but they didn’t accept. Through all these difficulties I realized all they required and I received a provisional license for 3 years. Now there are a lot of exams that I have to do based on their requirements. It is crazy because they do not have teachers and the Education in Nevada is the worst in USA and except this they create a lot of difficulties for we that have a PhD and want to work as teacher. I don’t know who but the government should take a look seriously at all employees that work there at Nevada Department of Education.

Not professional, rude and disrespectful. The people they work there are the worse and they don’t understand nothing from that job. Garbage

I went in to DOE for assistance obtaining an expedited license and got minimal help from the young lady at the window. She referred me to the website. I informed her that I did that and it left me feeling overwhelmed with the massive amount of information on their website to filter through. I hoped a DOE professional would help me to narrow down the information that I was interested in to get expedited help. I left feeling worse than when I arrived because it appears that the professional I spoke to did not have a vested interest in helping me. I thought they were trying to get licensed teachers in Nevada. It does not seem like it from that visit but I have not given up. Maybe she was the wrong rep to help me. Sincerely, Frustrated but still trying

This is a great question, I am having the same problem!
There is a phone number on that OPAL page or the page before. They do not answer when called. You leave a message with your issue or question and they will call you back. They may not call you the same day. Also, when they call it will be from a restricted number. Answer it even though it says restricted on your phone. It's a slow process.....
When it comes to calling them, I don't really think you can get a real person on the line. But when you email or visit them. They are super helpful.
Go to doe.nv.gov and click on educator licensure (OPAL)
You pay online. You can also make an appointment to get someone to assist you
They have a box in front of the office to drop things off in.
It is fast, need transcripts and fingerprints. You can make an appointment online, they are very helpful in the process of acquiring a teaching license.
Email them instead
Go online to Nevada Department of Education. You have to sign up on their portal used to renew a license or apply for a new license. The website will direct you to sign up after reading it.
In Clark county one needs to apply and pay for a Substitue teaching license which requires, 60 college units or A.A. degree, First aide CPR Certification, background clearance. The license fee is $188.00 you will need to present your transcripts Official copy with the seal. There is no test like CBEST. And i dont believe they will use your test scorez to qualify you.
Yes. Yes you can.
Or ask for a zone varience.
You should be able to find all requirements at the Nevada Department of Education (Educator Licensure) site: http://www.doe.nv.gov/Educator_Licensure/

I only know secondary, middle school 6-8, the case is enough that I only had students pulled once a month at the most, usually not at all, from ELA.
For CCSD or another school district?
