I was hiking in mummy’s toe Area, which is 45° angle of the last 3 miles to the top. Very strenuous. I made it up fine, but even being as careful as I could on the way down, I fell and injured the lower part of my leg. Later x-rays revealed it was cracked. But, I could not walk at all. I would get lightheaded and dizzy from the pain. Red rock search and rescue was on the mountain that day looking for a 75-year-old hiker who had gone missing. We had met with several groups who were searching off trail as we were on trail making our way to the top of mommies toe. About 12 minutes after I fell, five members of red rock search and rescue came around the corner. And instituted care that was unbelievable. Soft splints and wraps. Mylar blanket to keep me warm. Such warm care. They had a satellite phone with which they called for help. And stayed more than an hour until the helicopter came to transport me off the mountain. I couldn’t of had more excellent service, human warmth, and great care. I appreciate them deeply.

The park has really nice grass and wide open space. Decent playground for kids as well. Can't speak in the S &R portion. It's just a building on the edge of the park. It does lack doggie bags stations for waste pick up.
