Questions & Answers

How much is a library card

Jaderian Woodruff | Oct 26, 2020
Reference Desk | Oct 26, 2020

Hi Jaderian! If you live in Decatur County, you are able to sign up for a library card at no cost! If you live outside of Decatur County, then a non-resident card can be purchased for $40 and is good for one year. If you are already a library patron and need a replacement card, then the replacement cost is indeed $2. And if you have a library card through us, then it can be used at any Evergreen Indiana Library! If that does not answer your question, please feel free to contact us directly.

What food can you bring for food for fines

Brittney Blair | Oct 27, 2019
Keith Kaffenberger | Oct 27, 2019

Thank you for your inquiry! A complete list of goods that are eligible for our Food For Fines program are listed here: http://www.greensburglibrary.org/food-for-fines The goal of the program is to provide Decatur County youth with easy to prepare meals and snacks they can make themselves during the holiday break. Because they are typically trickier to prepare, canned goods are not eligible for our Food For Fines program. If you wish to donate canned goods, we would be happy to put you in touch with a local food bank that would gladly accept them. And while we would be happy to deliver them to the Cheer Fund for you, Ramen Noodles are unfortunately not eligible for fine forgiveness.

Can you send faxes there

Jetta Knepper | Oct 27, 2018
Keith Kaffenberger | Oct 27, 2018

Yes, you can! The cost to send or receive faxes is $1 per page. If the person you wish to fax will accept an email PDF attachment, there is a document scanner that can turn a stack of papers into a PDF file suitable for email free of charge.

Does the library have a fax machine that the public can use?

Angie Fivecoat | Oct 27, 2018
Greensburg - Decatur County Public Library | Oct 27, 2018

Yes, we do! The cost for faxing is $1.50 for the first page, and $1 for each additional page. There is no charge for cover pages. We also have a document scanner attached to one of our express computers, so if you can login to your e-mail account and your recipient will accept an e-mailed PDF attachment, that is a service you can utilize free of charge!
