Though there was a lack of competence within the Homestead Department via our attaching all REQUIRED documentation for disabled veterans (2 Iraq tours) for the Exemption Act and still being asked for more. The department did finally correct the situation and the receptionist was at least very personable.

The same bureaucrats that tried taxing me for a garage that I don't have ! Their excuse , my neighbors have a garage , so obviously I must have a garage too ! Imbeciles just have to look at Google maps to see the truth .

Whether a property is given as a gift does not determine its property value.
The County Auditor values property. Ohio Law requires a mass appraisal every six years and a triennial update three years later. 2017 was a mass appraisal year so your value may have changed. Taxes are set in part by value but levies and state tax rates also contribute to your value.
