For weeks I had looked for a clean, low hour 2014 Kubota L4600HST when I saw a possibility on the Mayer website. I telephoned Scott Evans, discussed the tractor, and asked him to get a shipping quote from Ohio to zip code 78624. His response to this was $3000. That should have been a red flag for me. I picked up the phone and got a $1700 quote from a reputable company that I've done business with previously. I decided to take a gamble and pay the top asking price of $28,000 for the 2014 Kubota L4600HST. I requested that Scott send me an Operator's Manual and filters kit. He did not: another red flag. After unloading the ???2014???? tractor, it would die when the operator's foot was taken off of the accelerator. It started right back up each time. I drove it the approximate ½ mile to my shop and began troubleshooting. I replaced the diesel fuel pump cut-off selenoid and fuel filter. The problem continued. I then called Messick's and talked to their tech support. They suggested it might be the OPC controller. I built a steering wheel puller so I could replace the OPC controller. So far this has eliminated the dead engine problem. The evaluation of the tractor will continue. When I first raised the engine hood the bottom of the radiator was filled with debris, indicating it had not been serviced prior to Mayer selling it to me. I telephoned Kubota Corp. and gave them the serial number 50966. They said the Kubota was sold in Louisiana in 2012. Therefore it is NOT a 2014 model. I asked Scott Evans in a phone conversation why he sold it as a 2014. Scott said that's what the previous owner said it was when he bought it. That was BS. Mayer Equipment is responsible for verifying the build date on used equipment they sell. I will reduce the price and sell it at a loss as a 2012 model. Attached are photos of the parts I personally replaced so far, and a pic of the dirty radiator before I cleaned it. GFC

Very hood sales service and parts staff

I understand its late spring early summer and I farming is very busy but, the service and parts department is unfriendly and uncooperative. Being with a large out of town contracting business who has money to spend you would think that they would be a bit more accommodating.
