Unfortunately I must agree with others, the phone staff is short, curt, rude and condescending. I called for a simple piece of information and was darn near ridiculed over it.

The employees are never friendly on the phone - always short and rude. It's a pain to get ahold of someone through customer service and they make you go through a lot of hoops to get anything covered. Lots of work on your end filling out paper work and going back and forth. I wish we could have a different insurance and not have to deal with them! :(

Will Afscme pay for CPS Para professionals to get their licensure to teach?

Afscme doesn't pay for Paraprofessionals to get their teacher licensure. However, there is a free college benefit made available to union members and their families. Through the free college program you can earn an AA or Bachelors in Education, Business, and Criminal Justice. If you reach out to CPS specifically, they may be able to tell you if they offer and financial assistance for those looking to obtain their teaching license. Good Luck.
