I participate in a CSA with the farm. Everything is always so fresh and healthy. The farmers are so very friendly and knowledgeable.

A previous reviewer named Amelia has no idea what honey is. It is literally the only food that does not “go bad”. It is so low in water and high in sugar that bacteria can not grow in it. There is honey found in the tombs of Egyptian pharaohs that is 2500 years old. It’s perfectly edible. When honey crystallizes it’s a good thing. If one does not want the crystals, place the jar in warm water.

I took my family to Prairie Wind Farms over the weekend and it is an hour drive for us (40 miles). It's a beautiful land and it's all very clean and nice. I wasn't sure what to expect but was a little disappointed to see minimal fresh produce. It's mostly dairy products, frozen fish and meat and some honey. The main reason why I went to the farm was in search of some good, local honey for my son (and fresh produce). We bought 3 jars of it. The day after we opened the jar of honey, it started to crystalize. It is now 6 days since we have been eating it and it's gone pretty thick and bad. I grew up making honey with my dad. This shouldn't have happened with an expensive, locally made honey. When honey is getting bad, it develops a cloudy yellow color instead of a clear golden one — the texture then becomes thicker until it's grainy. Once it's finally considered “bad,” the color becomes white, and the texture gets hard. This whole process is because of the crystallization of honey for a long time.

4/2022 update. There's now a credit card reader to pay. Used Google pay. There's 3 parking spots. Great family farm in Lake County. Fresh produce, chickens, green houses to see.

They are still an operational farm and have a CSA program. In their little farm store, they sell produce from their farm and products (e.g., produce, meat, cheese) from local farms and vendors. They do have a freezer section, but when I have viewed these products, they have all been local.
We do not, however we have apples for sale at our farmstand. Thank you for your interest!
Currently, we do not. Thanks for your interest!
No. No pick your own. They do have an excellent CSA program though!
Not that I'm aware of. I know they sell eggs, honey and the delicious and fresh vegetables they carefully grow. 👌🥚
They do! Great eggs!
