We pulled in just to have lunch at a "park" but there wasn't really a picnic area? We just pulled over to a tree by the post office to get done shade. Pretty cool rock formation though

I gave this campground just outside Gallup NM a 5 star because the scenery is gorgeous and its easy access from I 40 . We only spent 1 night but there are folks who live here which sorta gave the feel of being in the movie Nomad land. The bathroom we used was clean and it had showers and a big heating unit which kept it warm on a 24 degree morning. They used to keep them locked but too many people kept the keys so now they are supposed to be open. Leaving in the morning we discovered them locked but one of the locals had the keys to open both for us. We didn’t see a host or anyone who worked there during our visit. The site we booked online was already taken by a long term renter but she told us to just use the next door site and she moved the tent someone had left there 3 weeks ago and it was fine. She told us there are wild horses but we didn’t see any. There’s a hike from the campground to Church Rock. We started late in the evening so only got halfway but it was worthwhile. There are facilities for ppl traveling with their horses. There is also the Church Rock NM post ofc on site ! This park is operated by the city of Gallup

This place is of a wonderful energy , beautiful to walk during the day on November , I can’t imagine how hot it could get in the summer . Brig your water , and if you like to get lost , this is the place. Respect and clean after you here , you can even clean others ! Even better

Perfect place. I would check the listed website and give them a call.
Not sure. I think there's an RV park at that State Park. Sorry can't be much of any help.
Take an extra 30 min detour and we'll put you up for free. Maybe even get to see real Indian country.

Yes...If you get there after 4pm, they come around between 6-8 to collect $22 or you can pay the next morning
Not easy to find. Its not well marked before Red Rock across the road. Good luck.
Like most state parks there's an honor box or you can see the people in the morning
Open year round. Sometimes hard to find a park official during the winter. Water lines will be frozen.
Only to the campground - there is a hiking paths from the camp to the top.
