This station has really gone downhill like most things in Rochester. I was traveling with my small dog, paid for him but I was still accosted & treated so rudely. They made an already stressful all that much more stressful. Not to mention they told me the furthest I could go was rhinecliff to get a “commuter train” there’s no commuter trains in rhinecliff. Thank goodness, the conductor on the next train was gracious and kind. Scum ppl at this station

Very poor service. If Greyhound is telling me to go to your address, you should embrace me and sell me a train ticket, not throw me out. I am more mad at Amtrak for not allowing me to wait in their lobby when I could have easily bought a ticket from them. I will explore Trailways due to the shortsightedness of the Amtrak staff. Greyhound left me stranded and Amtrak did not offer me a place to wait nor a ticket to take me from Greyhound. VERY SHORTSIGHTED AMTRAK. Very bad business decisions. If I could give you a half star I would. Quit with your dumb decisions and shortsighted security guy.

Just fine. Clean and modern. Navigating toward the tracks is a bit confusing though. Trains frequently take any track they want, so ask staff or you might be standing slightly in the wrong spot… even if screens / google says one thing it could be the other.

Clean and very easy to navigate through. There is a good amount of parking spaces. I’ve been to this station so many times going from Rochester to Yonkers and this station is always quiet and clean. Staff members are very thorough when it comes to letting us know where to go in the station and on the train.

It should be open by now. You can leave your car parked there (if you can find a spot in the poorly designed parking lot). No fee. As for safety, you are on your own.
Go Megabus. Much cheaper. And better on time reliability.
What the heck I don't know just call up the train station they'll tell you
Hi, Roxanne. Price depends on availability, supply/demand, advanced booking, etc. Just like the airlines. ☎️Call 1-800-USA-RAIL for details📲 🖥Check online: www.Amtrak.com📱

The trains run regularly on a consistent schedule. You can book train tickets months in advance or as far as the calendar in the app or online will allow.
Dogs and cats up to 20 pounds (combined weight of pet and carrier) are welcome on trips up to seven hours on most routes (some restrictions apply*). ... In the event of a service disruption, Amtrak will make reasonable efforts to seek (but cannot guarantee) pet-friendly hotel accommodations, if sheltering is necessary. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.amtrak.com/pets%23:~:text%3DDogs%2520and%2520cats%2520up%2520to,routes%2520(some%2520restrictions%2520apply*).%26text%3DIn%2520the%2520event%2520of%2520a,accommodations%252C%2520if%2520sheltering%2520is%2520necessary.&ved=2ahUKEwjYhMDX5drsAhUdmXIEHRZ2BPYQFjACegQIBxAE&usg=AOvVaw0c6Uj8MRGu7eI975VvXXrE
I believe so, yes. But I believe it's an at your own risk situation with break ins and such.
Yes!
Based on my one-time, very good ROC experience: If you have luggage, I suggest arriving ~60-90 mins ahead of departure. Without luggage, ~30-45 mins. But even that timing maybe +/- off a bit depend on time of day - so I believe it is always good idea to call the Amtrak front desk service folks with any questions. They were a blessing for me...since I am more of a frequent SWAir flyer
You need to go online to the Amtrak site. You put in the start and end points and pick the train. The cost is determined by the seat. Remember...the coach seats come in various prices. There is no need to pay more than the lowest price for coach. If you can afford the next step up go business class. The seats are better and the car stays cleaner...not to mention the restroom stays cleaner as well. Also, you get snacks and drinks usually. The top class is the sleeper where you have your own seats (2 facing each other) which will make one bed for sleeping. A top bunk comes down for a second bed. Breakfast comes with this car. But the price is way higher too. Both business and sleeper load first which is an added plus. Also, not all stations have a club room...but if you get to a station that does the small cost is worth it. Great waiting room...snacks and drinks.. Early load. Also you can leave your luggage if you go out during your wait between trains.
Because it isn't the station number.
Amtrak does...yes.
With the new parking design I'd get a friend or family to drop me off. It's safe to park...I've never had any issues. Just not a large lot. Check inside before you decide do it. The staff is pretty good there.
