Coast Guard memorial stones located on base has been completed. Walked through and had a sense of immersion surrounded by the chest high dipping curves. Dark, sharp structure. The fallen etched in stone, dates 1933 and up. π- to me the structure matches the strength of the Souls it represents. very nice!

Graduated India company 1968, also Honor Guard. first duty was brand new cutter. USCG Steadfast WMEC 623. Picked up the cutter in LORAN Ohio, traveled through locks to Norfolk Va for underway training . Finally went to home port of St. Petersburg, Fla. Greatest time of my life, met my wife of 51 years there.

We take many people to see their loved one graduate.
There are no shuttles for parents to and from Philadelphia.
You can't contact him unless there is an emergency. If his company earns a phone call he can call home. Usually doesn't happen until the final 2 weeks.
Friday 8 weeks after the first day
The Grand Hotel in Cape May.
If your son has put you on the roster, you will be fine. It will not be enough to just come ND attend, though.
Yes, you can attend the graduation! Make sure your recruit submits the names. Your recruit will have a ticket to their next duty station. If their home is en route, they may elect a stopover on leave. Your recruit will be trained on how all that works. Congrats! Week 5 is tough, but theyve made it this far, the end is in sight!
I cannot imagine the guards being rude or disrespectful. Maybe you need to review the base policies and website information prior to your visit? Knowing is half the situation, so it could be that you (with a dd-214) have access, but visitors aren't allowed?
Find out what company your son is in. There is a Facebook group that you can request to join and they will have all your answers
Yes
July 17th
No library.
I am guessing 1984 or 85. There's a Facebook page with all of the company photos. Just Google Delta 119 Coast Guard and it comes up in the search results.
If you know your nephew's company, there is a wonderful group of people on Facebook who maintain individual pages for each company. If you have a Facebook account, just do a search for your nephew's company (if he is already at the training center) and you should be able to find the group page. This page will have all the info you need as well as some insight as to what the recruits are doing each week.
I suggest he talk to a recruiter. They would know if such programs are available. I don't believe they are.
Best haircut you can get for 7 dollars. Straight edge is the best place to go in town
This is the training center for all non-officer US Coast Guard trainees. So yes, it's a boot camp for the Coast Guard.
If you have a federally issued retiree ID you can come to our dining facility for the full meal rate.
You have to go have a military sponsor to help with you ,or see Cape May Realtor to help you out I haven't been station there since September 1994. I was only there for my Reserves drills weekend and 2 weeks Annual training. I was station there two years so you know it was a long haul.
Yes you do have to go to the USO. I am not sure of the wait. I guess it depends on where you are flying in from. All of the recruits meet there and then board a bus to Cape May. And you will most definitely arrive in Cape May at night time, if that gives you an idea of the wait.
When they sail by.
I was P-142 and we formed and graduated in June of 1993.
Its 52 days. So Friday, November 16th. If you have a Facebook page, the company itself will have a page with all pertinent information. The USCG Family Assistance Fund page will have all the information to join the company page once your recruit ships out. My two sons graduated this past June and last November. And my son in law ships out Oct 9. Good luck to your recruit.
52 Days. Unless you get reverted or rephased.
Reach out to social media, FB typically has pages with Veteran support.
From what I know, they have a graduation every Friday.
