Water supply is turned back on and will stay on until late October/early November.

Good place to have lunch. The view was pretty good. Honestly, the view .2 miles north (east) was better but shelter from the wind was nice. It was relatively clean and had a registry. I do not believe water is available here any more.

One of the best maintained shelters on the AT in the northern PA section. There is an amazing overlook about 300 yards north of this shelter on the AT. That's a great spot to camp overnight as well (if the shelter runs out of space).

Are reservations required?

No, first come first served. This time of year there are unlikely to be many people staying overnight there. When I last camped in the fall it was full and there were probably 20 to 30 people tenting in nice areas outside. Anyone backpacking on the Appalachian Trail should have their own tent because you can never count on space at a shelter being available
