It's definitely worth going. I only went on the historical tour, not the ghost tour, because I'm kind of a wimp. You get to look at two blocks of cells, the dungeon, which is where John B. Firebug was housed for 17 years! You get to see James Earl Ray's cell (who killed Martin Luther King Jr.) and Charles "Sonny" Liston's (who became the national heavyweight champion). You get to learn about other famous inmates like Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd. You get to see the gas chamber, where 40 people were executed. I think the most valuable aspect of this tour is that you get to hear about it from Green, who was a guard while the penitentiary was still operational. He is a bit older, so you have to have patience. It's also important to realize you're hearing from someone who grew up in a different time, saw the worst of people, and many of the people around are pro death penalty. If you're easily offended, consider the historical context and just listen.

Very good guided guided tour. Our guide, Michael Lear, we as a wealth of knowledge. He knew the history of the penitentiary and had many stories to pass on to us. We enjoyed his tour and highly recommend it. We all gave him a standing ovation at the end!!

Yes online records are available for individuals/cases tried in the state of MO. Do a search for Missouri Case Net.
Any age is fine I believe
Yes you can go on line to schedule and pay 30.00 for 3 hrs
March 2021 opens back up
The day we went was on a Sunday. The tour started at 1:00 p.m. But if you are asking about Saturday, I am not sure what time the tours are.
It's closed. c.o. v.i.d. yours 139.00 a night.when they reopen
Yes
No, teasers to it but not the haunted things. Also, the regular haunted tour doesn't go into the criminally insane area that is supposed to be the most haunted. So be sure you get the info on that, if that's what you're wanting.
We only took the 2-hour daytime option, but the guide said usually 10-15 on the overnight tour.

Yes this place is it really really haunted my daughter captured incredibly clear daytime video of a shadow person in the old building before the ghost hunt on a ghosy hunt weekend with the Tennessee Wraith Chassers. And yes Bonnie and Carl did kidnap and kill a young boy. They were executed together fo their crimes.
It was getting old. They built a new one. It was more cost effective. The prison was started in the 1860's I think.
They conduct paranormal tours/investigations which have had various degrees of success.
Yes, in the oldest section of the prison. It was a great tour.
While on a day tour the guides lock you into each building With then as They explain the history. They say to prevent trespass. Noises are common and creeps you out But when one of our guides looked back With a surprised look because we all heard the same sound.......yeah spooky.
