This is a gem of a hotel! We recently stayed for the second time at this property and I can not say enough wonderful things about it. First, the staff are absolutely amazing..... everyone is helpful, courteous and welcoming. The rooms are SPOTLESS! The beds are comfy. Everyone goes the extra mile! A special shout-out to Scott for his guidance and leadership of this property. This is an exceptional value property, we will definitely return!

This was our first time staying at The Lodge at Flat Rock. My husband and I are in our 50's and were visiting from Charlotte to hike at DuPont State Park. We checked in early evening on Friday, got changed and went to dinner at the Flat Rock Wood Room - excellent barbeque! We returned to our room around 8pm and settled in for an early night. Unfortunately, the people above us were loud and very noisy. We called the front desk after tolerating it for a good hour. It took about 30 mins, but the people finally got quiet. The next evening, the noise started around 5pm and continued for several hours. We feel, at night, the noise should be at a minimum. We called the front desk once it got dark. We ended up having to call the front desk a total of 3 times due to the noise above us. It was terribly disrespectful and ruined our last night there. I hope the folks who run the Lodge will consider putting guests with children either on the first floor and/or put all families with children near each other and be mindful that there are those of us who want to get away (without children) from noisy people, places and things. The person at the front desk did the best she could and I believe she felt bad for the disruption. We won't return unless we are guaranteed a top floor room at the time of our reservation. The king bed was very comfortable and once we were able to get to sleep, we slept soundly. We liked that the room had french doors to make 2 rooms if needed for privacy. Great little kitchen w/fridge and freezer. The breakfast that is included was okay - we ate a small breakfast of oatmeal and yogurt before our hike Saturday morning. By Sunday morning and after the noisy evening prior, we packed up early and stopped at a nearby Cracker Barrel on our way back to Charlotte. We were loading our car at 730am and the noise was underway from our neighbors.

Everything is great. It's my third night here, I'm leaving tomorrow. Room is very clean, fresh smelling. Studio room is surprisingly large with a kitchenette, small refrigerator/freezer, microwave, cabinets, dishes and coffeemaker. Comfortable, clean and plush beds with plenty of pillows! I want to take the whole bed set-up home with me! Bathroom is clean, plentiful towels and a hair dryer is provided. Plenty of light in the room with a working desk and an overhead fan. Typical continental breakfast included. Staff all helpful and friendly. No strange people lurking about and as a single traveler, I have felt safe while walking my dog outside. Grassy area out front to walk the dog turned out to be convenient. I'm traveling in the winter so I didn't check out the pool facilities but inside, the Lodge was warm and welcoming. Addendum: I checked out and drove an hour away realizing I had lost my prescription eyeglasses while walking my dog. I called the Lodge, they actually went outside and found them in the parking lot for me! I had them 3 days later. Yes, I recommend this Mountain Lodge!

My family stayed here while transitioning during buying our home. The staff from top to bottom were extremely nice and helpful. As it was during Christmas the entire place was decorated and classy and it made us feel completely at home. Since then, I have reserved rooms for my crews coming in from out of town to stay here as the rooms are reasonably priced and the amenities are readily available. I usually don’t write reviews, however I was pleasantly impressed with the Lodge at Flat Rock
