I brought my dog here on an emergency visit over two years ago because my usual vet did not have availability. (My dog was vomiting and needed immediate care.) I have been visiting this vet ever since, because my I was roped into their care plan. The bill was exorbitantly overpriced (comparing with my other vet) and over $500 for a sick visit and medication. Joining their care plan was going to save me a few hundred dollars off of this bill, so I begrudgingly signed up. I paid $35-45 a month for two years and had basic immunizations and doctors visits covered. Although, I never left this place without having to pay something, so the plan doesn't cover everything. For example, flu shots were not covered by the plan and were another $50. Heartworm shots are also not covered (another $50). I don't mind paying for good service, but I have never had a great customer experience here. The front desk staff are very transactional and not very friendly- especially the employee I interacted with today. I had an appointment at 3:15pm. Arrived a bit late and waited a few minutes while she helped another customer. Once it was my turn, she looked up my appointment (for a bordatella shot only) and stated, "Your appointment was at 3:15pm and it's 3:30pm..." Then silence. (For the record, it was 3:27pm by that point.) I told her I was sorry and if there was anything she could do. She goes to the back room, talks to someone, and returns to tell me that we will have to reschedule- first availability 7 days away. I told her that would not work (need the vaccine for boarding this weekend) and I would go elsewhere. She said something like, "ok". So I am done with Banfield and feel relieved!

The customer service and care for our pets over the last 10 years has been wonderful.

The veterinarians at this location have been amazing to us and our pets. The front desk receptionist, however, has no business interacting with the clients or patients. Her attitude is the worst we have ever encountered at a vet clinic. Unless the managers deal with her awful manners and complete disregard for client and patient care, we will be cancelling our monthly wellness plan and seeking veterinary care elsewhere.

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Oct 25, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
