Swetsville Zoo

There's nobody that really regulates the zoo. Due to the casual nature of the place, I think it's fine to have a dog there.

Yes Swetsville is open donations on entering just visited on Mother's Day.

I ended up calling the phone number and the greeting stated that they are open every day of the week during daylight hours.

This place is self-guided only. There are no staff on site.

The path through is mainly dirt, so uneven and sometimes muddy. But so worth it!

Yes from the highway as you pass the zoo and if you just pull into the parking lot of the zoo you can see a few sculptures

Don't rely on it. There's places close by with public restrooms. Get over there asap though, as the property is for sale.

Drat. This is sad news. It is quite the landmark. I have friends coming from Ireland and this place is on my list.

If you're not sure, you could park at the Costco across the street.

Last I was aware the owner or family resided on the property, however I believe the creater is elderly. I personally did not see any notification on contact. There were donation areas to help support the maintenance of the property.

Yes plenty of parking. The whole experience is free

The hours say 4pm. It is outside on someone's property and the gates are open in the morning to just walk through at your leisure.

Uneven dirt path in good repair. Places to sit and rest. Gravel parking. You will need to be a little careful, but it is totally worth it.
