Originally Huntley Manor appeared to be a good place to live regardless it is very deceiving. You would assume that the management would be helpful due to the circumstances individuals are in regardless that is not the case. I also want to save other individuals from the extremely unfortunate troubles of residing in this complex. I started living here many months ago and unfortunately, I have nothing but complaints and bad experiences in regards to the customer service of this place. To begin, the management here and the majority of the employees are unhelpful and unprofessional; it is very apparent that they do not care about resolving the problems that the community has. During the winter they do not plow the snow on time; they do it many days later which forfeits the point and is a major safety hazard and dangerous. This pricing of the rent and utilities are ridiculously high for no reason. My utility bills are ridiculously high for two individuals in total who live in the apartment and I notified the office they did not help with the problem at all; they just consistently let the bills get higher with no solution. I consulted with my neighbors and they agree that this place is overpriced and this is why individuals move out as soon as they can. My Neighbors communicated with me that they do not pay as much and there is no reason for the water bill and gas and electric bills to be so high in this unit. It is extremely upsetting and unfortunate that I did not receive proper treatment or get any consideration or any effective solutions for my concerns. Considering that the gas and electric companies are separate, that was understood in the beginning. However, the water bill company is associated with the apartment complex, and at least with that circumstance they could have established a solution but there is an extreme deficiency of reasonable customer service in this apartment complex and if you read the other reviews there are individuals that agree. There is much more but this is just an overview of the unfortunate circumstances that occurred and the lack of customer assistance. Also, this review will not solve anything. I am aware that I won't receive any solutions from management, just excuses that I have received throughout my entire stay, and all I desired were reasonable solutions to the troubles.

Update: Make sure to take videos and pictures of every aspect of your apartment before you move out. They will claim that you damaged something and take money out of your deposit on trumped up charges. In my 20+ years of renting, I have never had a dime taken out of my deposit. This place is unethical, renter beware. Office staff impolite and unresponsive to the needs of their tenants. Been living here for 2 years and there is a particular employee who has been consistently rude with my family. AC broke on Friday and had to wait till Monday for someone to come and look at it and only got that because I called and asked where maintenance was that was scheduled to arrive between 8am -1pm. It’s 2 pm now, let’s see what happens. Can’t wait to move.

Too over pricey for never being able to sit outside or open windows all summer yard staff around patio door all day long, noise off grand river cant hear even the tv so have to leave apartment closed up plus the sound barrier between homes terrible every morning awaken to crying baby upstairs and all evening pounding across ceiling for this price point you'd expect better sound proofing. Also kitchen cabinet cheap dont close correctly sure they'll blame me, don't want maintenance guy in my home til I move not friendly.

Huntley Manor was recommended to me by the corporate relocation company of my employer and I lived here for the last 2.5 years. I always had mixed feelings about living here. On one side it's a relatively nice neighborhood and the apartments are nice in comparison to what the local market offers but they are also cheaply made. My biggest concern however is the lack of service quality and the management. No matter what, they always showed attitude even in answering simple maintenance requests like water leaks as if they would do you a favor. This behavior was now even topped after I had moved out and they sent me the final statement. I left the apartment in great shape and cleaned before leaving. Instead of saying Thank You and sending me my security deposit, they are claiming a new stove top and refrigerator doors for almost $1,200. Note, the appliances have definitely not been damaged and looked almost like new, see picture. Nobody ever contacted me about this or showed any proof like photos or invoices. Luckily I made some final walkthrough pictures and videos that I gladly will share on all relevant online platforms together with this and some more interesting experiences living there. I'm sure the corporate relocation company will also be interested in these experiences. It is so sad that there are still companies thinking they can be successful with these shady practices instead of doing what they are supposed to do, delivering outstanding service and quality to their clients! Ultimately I can only warn everyone who is thinking about moving to Huntley Manor and make business with the managing company Lautrec. If you want to avoid questionable business practices, wrong shady claims and being confronted with an attitude, definitely don't move there!
