During the short time I have lived in my apartment, we have experienced multiple serious and very concerning security incidents which our property manager, Max, refuses to do anything about. I am writing this review because I seriously worry that somebody in my building is going to get hurt, or worse, before Max decides we are finally important enough to take any type of action. We have had multiple instances of HOMELESS PEOPLE INSIDE OF THE BUILDING, including homeless squatting in vacant apartments and trying to break in to occupied apartments. We have also had hundreds of dollars of packages stolen, multiple cars broken into, and homeless actively doing drugs or passed out on the property. The external doors to the building are old, wobbly, and often will stick open. We have pointed this out to Max but he will not fix it. The only thing he has done at this point is change the locks, an action which took him several weeks to accomplish, during which time we experienced ANOTHER break in. He also taped the new keys to our doors, which is absolutely negligent considering we are having issues with unhoused INSIDE the building. Last night we saw a man picking the lock to get into the building next door and I could not sleep all night. Other Cornerstone buildings have much better security, and I know they are fully capable of helping us, but they simply won't. They don't care. We have been shot down at every request for more secure doors, video cameras, keypad entry, or anything else that might make us feel more safe in our homes. The property managers have a responsibility to provide reasonable security for tenants, and Cornerstone is well aware that this building is in a high-crime area, yet refuse to do anything but the bare legal minimum, all while raising rent and charging an arm and a leg. We tenants are collecting evidence of the unacceptable conditions and trying to build a case for some level of higher security. The building is small and old and I cannot imagine it is terribly expensive to upkeep. People live here, and they are scared. Do something!

I am a resident at a Cornerstone apartment building, and had an unfortunate accident right outside of B-Street apartments. Avria was the first person to rush to my side. I hadn’t met Avria before, but she was fantastic. Helped me settle down, and stayed by my side until the Paramedics took over. I think she called 911, as well. Thank you Avria- you rock!!!!!
