I recently purchased a Deering banjo from the Denver Folklore Center. The purchase was made over the phone, as I live in Southwest Colorado. This is the second instrument I have purchased from the Folklore Center, and both have been great experiences. I was a bit reluctant to have the instrument shipped….but all is well. The packing was well done and the instrument set-up is first class. Thanks for the excellent customer service….what a treat to deal with a local small business who cares about their customers.

Retired and looking to take up guitar again since my teenage years. I tried some of the big guitar stores but was not satisfied with the customer service, thus I went to the Denver Folklore Center. I was met by Saul who got me headed in the right direction for my budget and what I wanted in a guitar. One of his staff sat with me and we worked through three guitars, eventually selecting an acoustic Kremona. So glad I made the trip and will continue to use The Folklore Center. Thanks Saul and staff.

I love this store. Got my first Taylor here. It’s definitely not the place to go and jam all day long. For that go to guitar center. However, when you buy a new guitar from them, it comes with a free setup warranty for a year. Showing they care about your instrument really working for you, even after the transaction is done. They also gave me good advice on how to take care of it. Nice people.

I've made a few instrument purchases and have had them do some work on a few of my guitars. You wont find a better shop locally. Wish I could play everything but they got to keep them pretty and new which is understandable. If you have any musical needs make Denver Folklore your first stop.

I would humbly recommend the Denver Folklore Center in Platt Park. They have a little bit of everything when it comes to acoustics. Good luck!
Nancy, thanks for your inquiry. We no longer carry percussion instruments. I’d suggest that you try Rupp’s drums in Denver.
At this time we disinfect the store every morning when we open. Then we require everyone entering the store to use hand disinfectant as they enter the store. All staff and customers must wear face masks at all times. And we are limiting to three customers at a time inside the store. Finally, we are a credit card only business at the moment - no handling of cash. We may modify our practices in the future, so be sure to contact us for more information before visiting the store. Thank you.
We do not as saddles are generally custom shaped to fit the slot on the bridge of a guitar. We stock saddle blanks if you would like to shape your own or our luthier can make a saddle specific to your instrument.
I doubt it. It is almost exclusively stringed instruments... Guitars, banjos, ukuleles...
