Questions & Answers

Do you have to be a resident of Ferndale to sign out book, or is there a fee that you have to pay

Geraldine Brown | Oct 25, 2021
Jasmine Parker | Oct 25, 2021

Yes Brandy is correct. If you're a Detroit resident you would first need to have a library card through their library system, and from there request a Michlib sticker that would then enable you to borrow books and/or media from Ferndale. Detroit residents may borrow up to 10 items at a time.

If you have a library card from a nearby community, we may be able to add it to our system so you can check out materials from the library. When you visit, bring your card and ID. Feel free to give us a call if you have questions about your specific library card. 248-546-2504.

Depending on the library the patron is a member of. TLN (The Library Network) patrons can use their cards at Ferndale to check out materials and use computers. MILibraryCard holders can have their card added and check out materials for free. Stop at the front desk or call to see what network your card belongs to.
