When I moved into Prince Hall Place, it seemed a nice place to live. I've been here, 2015; #1B, since Sept 02, 2010 and with each passing year the place has deteriorated. We've had 5/6 staff changes and the current one, headed by Property Manager Deniece Jenkins, is the worst one that's been here. To me, she's not qualified to manage people's lives by managing the places they live; to me, she seems to be "pas tout la". She's lied on residents to cover her incompetence. During the last recertification period, she requested that I backdate the forms in order to save Prince Hall Place from being in a breach of lease contract by not recertifying leases in a timely manner. I refused and dated them properly. I turned the paperwork in and she lied and said that I'd turned in BLANK forms! We are, at present, headed for litigation in 36th District Court on a different matter. During the Eviction Prevention Moratorium, Sept. 04, 2020---July 29, 2021, "Pas Tout La" evicted several people from this compound. People's good furniture and other belongings were, w/o benefit of a court mandated Order of Eviction, dumped into a big, red dumpster that sits in front of the bldg that I live in. Deniece Jenkins is so obviously "off centered" you'd think that she was sent here through one of the mental rehab programs. WHY IS SHE STILL ALLOWED TO HANDLE TENANTS LEASES AND RENT M.O.? SHE MIGHT COME IN ONE DAY IN ONE OF HER MENTAL/EMOTIONAL FUGUES AND TEAR UP OUR MONEY ORDERS!!!!! PAS TOUT LA IS A FRENCH/CAJUN EXPRESSION MEANING: "NOT ALL THERE; WHACKO".

I put in an application in early October 2021. I was informed the wait list was 3-5 months, and, I, asked, was this based according to income, and was told, no, it wasn't. I, called periodically, to get updates, on the waiting list. I received a call from the assistant manager, for me to come in and update my application, and take me to see a rental unit that I was so content and ready for. I, was advised, if I like it, to leave a $100.00 deposit. I left the deposit and was told she will start my application process, the next day. I called once and sometimes, twice a week, to get status updates. According to the assistant manager, there were two units available, and, she asked me what floor was I interested in, and I told her what floor I would like. Moving forward, I was GIVEN the impression that the rental unit was mine. I get a call on Good Friday, saying, I need to come in the next week, to sign some more papers. I, couldn't understand HOW that could be, when I've done ALL of that with the assistant manager. I, get a call back that same day, from the property manager, that I was OVER INCOME!!!! Prince Hall Management communications is HORRIBLE, and, I, believe with ALL the excuses after excuses, after excuses, that they've given me, they gave the rental unit to someone else, and to save face, they told me, I was over income. Unfortunately, no apology from the assistant manager, that wasted my time, with excuses. However, hopefully, no one else have a bad experience like I had.

Don’t Move in Prince Hall Place Apartments, I have been here for 17 years this place is horrible , management is terrible anytime something is wrong in your apartment they lie to you when you stuff will be fixed . Cleaning Lady barley see her she clean buildings I say maybe twice a month if that . Maintenance people never know how to fix anything, my washer is not working it’s been out for going on 3 months now been hearing lies on when it will be fixed or even if I’m getting a new one . So if I was you I would run fast away from here and look somewhere else sad to say .

Although clothes washers and dryers come with the rental/lease units, there are no outlets for installing your own, personal washer and dryer. You may be able to arrange something with management(?).
They do take section 8
Do not move in here they have a bad bed bug problem and Roach problem they don't fix things until section 8 comes out
I was hoping for an alternative to having to go all the way back up there just to inquire about a pending application a email address or something. But thank you for answering my question.
There maybe vacancies coming available soon..stop by the leasing office for definite answers.
Just go by the office
