Whenever I want a new tattoo I always go to Koal because she is very skilled. Making an appointment is quick and easy. The stations are very clean and the staff are very friendly. They are very helpful when creating a new design or teaching you how to take care of the new tattoo.

I went to Live By The Sword twice, both times very different experiences. The first time I went was for my first tattoo. Great experience. I got a gorgeous moth tattoo done by an artist that has since left the studio (not sure why but good for them). They took their time on my tattoo, making sure it was done perfectly. I get compliments on the tattoo all the time and it healed great. Had such a good experience, I decided to come back for my second tattoo, this time at the broadway location. I wanted a $250 flash design and scheduled a 1.5 hour session. I went with my friend who also had an appointment. She was seated immediately, however I was left waiting for my artist for 15 min past our scheduled time. No, he wasn't doing another tattoo. 15 min later, he slowly walked up the stairs with no care. I got sat down and he SPED through the tattoo. Spent (and I timed this) 15 min on it. It's not like he had anything else to do, I had him booked for an additional hour and 15 min, he was just sitting in his chair on his phone. Plus, a $250 tattoo shouldn't take that short of time, should have been cheaper if it was going to be rushed, it valued him at $1000 an hour. I thought it looked good, thanked him, paid, tipped (20%) and sat down to wait for my friend. Upon closer examination, the tattoo was obviously rushed, squiggly lines, random lines, and my lamb tattoo was given toes instead of the hooves in the original design. I normally don't speak up for myself but I had to. I asked him to fix it to which he seemed surprised I'd even ask him to. I showed him what was wrong and he said it was "stylistic" and that certain lines would fade over time, news flash, 5 months later and they still haven't. He spent an additional 40 min "fixing" my tattoo, during which I had to hold up my own phone to show him the original design. The lines had to be made super thick to cover up his mistakes, and eventually he stopped, saying he didn't want to overwork my skin. Thankfully the tattoo is somewhere where most people won't see it, but I regret ever coming again. My tattoo is still raised, just don't get why he couldn't have slowed down on a piece of art that would last forever on my body. Go to a smaller studio and research your artists.

Jenna did a great job. She did my vert industrial conch and it went great. She warned me of the pain and gave me all the right advice to heal up best. Healing is going great

We do change piercing jewelry! If you bring in outside jewelry then we charge a $10 set up fee to change it, but if you purchase jewelry in-store then we waive the fee.
I've had several piercings done by LbtS and all have been done with needles without issue!
Hi Avery! It isn't legal to get a tattoo as a minor in the state of New York even with a guardian. You can however get a piercing as a minor with a guardian. Hope that helps!
HI Ashley! That would be $60 including jewelry. Hope to see you soon!
