I'm very unhappy with my shopping experience at Schaumburg Honda. To start it off, don't go by their online listed price because they are going to try and tack on $3,000+ for various exterior and interior sprays and coatings (one of which fights against COVID). Plus another $600 for a vehicle tracking system. In my negotiating, I got them to honor their online listed price. Then I went over to the business office to complete the transaction. I politely refused all of the add-ons and up-sells that were offered. So when I get home, my wife reviews the paperwork and discovers that they charged us an additional $4,300(our paperwork had no line itemization). After multiple calls to the dealership, they told us that we were charged $3,914 for a Smart Driver(whatever that is) and a Windshield. None of this was disclosed, and again, I was adamant about no additional items. Fortunately, they credited me back for the items I never authorized. Nobody's been able to explain why I paid $769.50 for registration and doc fees(registration in WI should be around $250)? I'm the type of shopper that figures out what I want first, then I go and find it for a fair price. This place seems to target impulsive shoppers who are alright with getting maxed out on a monthly payment plan, with very little transparency. On a positive note, the vehicle has been great.
