I wholeheartedly disagree with the other reviewer who claimed that the passport lady was rude. The lady is a literal pumpkin pie, mom like, woman. I just got my passport related stuff done there today, and she was a breeze to deal with. What the actual frik, guys! You have a nice person serving your county. I live over 80 miles from that location. I don't even have any vested interest in Kankakee, so I'd have criticized the heck out of that place if she really was as described in the other review.

Ask for Kim!! I called to inquire about getting multiple copies of my marriage certificate and she was extremely helpful and honest with me. Great person

Went to get a marriage license. The woman helping my fiance and I was extremely nice and helpful and answered all our questions. When we called to double check information, they were extremely courteous and well-mannered.

We went there to inquire about passports, and the woman who attended to us was minimally helpful, and highly smug and snarky. While we know her full name, we'll leave only her initials C.W., in case her employer cares about customer service. As a result of her poor attitude, we decided to get our passports at the US Post Office in Bourbonnais instead, where the woman was extremely friendly and immensely helpful. Obviously, this is what you would want when you are completing an unfamiliar process during which you might have questions. C.W. is probably glad to have avoided work, but she is the reason that office gets a bad reputation, and that people avoid Kankakee.

Only for the fees payable to the Clerk. The amount for the US Department of State is required to be in the form of a personal check or money order.
