Dr. Huang “Lee” is the best in Austin! I went to a dozen doctors before I found him, and his help with custom orthotics was exactly what I needed for my feet to heal! Highly recommended!!

Questions & Answers

Do I need an appointment? I have Blue Cross Blue Shield state of Texas, do I need a referral from my primary care physician?

It is better to make an appointment. An prescription must be presented when filing to the insurance. BCBS has many different programs with different coverage. You could ask your doctor to fax the prescription and your information to us. We will verify the insurance first and schedule your appointment. Best regards,

Do they accept Medicaid, shoes are for an 84 y/o female.

The regular Medicaid will not cover the diabetic shoes and inserts. But if you are in the Medical Access Program(MAP) with the Community Care, then we are the provider for that that program (CCC-MAP).

do I need a prescription to get shoes from your store and do you accept insurance?

I used the Foot Pain Relief Store last month for a pair of diabetic tennis shoes with orthotic inserts. But I did have a prescription. The inserts are custom made on-site according to your doctor's instructions. They have a few off-the-shelf things you can buy there without a prescription, but that's not really their thing. I will say they were very helpful, friendly, and responsive (I had some difficulties getting all my paperwork together). Since they accepted Medicare, I assume they accept most other insurance. But I'm guessing you would have to have a prescription from your doctor in order to use insurance. Overall, it was a good experience. Good luck!
