I'm new to ham radio and I went to the store in Atlanta, even though I don't speak Spanish, I had an excellent experience, very good service in the store and I tried several pieces of equipment before making the purchase, congratulations for the attention of the people working, greetings to skip

I haven't been there in a long while. But I think they might.
Hi Jack. Unfortunately your question doesn't give enough information. There are many different types of ham radio - local/repeater VHF/UHF mobile radios; VHF/UHF handheld radios; HF "worldwide" mobile radios; HF "worldwide" base station radios; digital handheld radios; digital mobile radios etc etc. A good radio for a beginner depends totally on what the beginner wants to do, how much they want to invest in their equipment, space available (for antennas), HOA restrictions (yeah, that's a real thing!), their license class and so on. Pretty much every ham will want a 2m/70cm dual band radio for the car, so I might suggest starting there. You can always use the same radio at home, connected to an outdoor antenna and a power supply. I would strongly suggest calling, or better yet, visiting the local Ham Radio Outlet and talking to the staff there. They will get you squared away and you can even try the radios before you decide what you want to get.
Hi Jeff, we are not a service station, as you know, but if you give the store a call we can certainly help you with options: 770-263-0700. I'm sure you've already done this, but double check that it's not anything attached to the rig that's causing the issue (swap mics, TX into a dummy load, change watt meters, swap all coax jumpers) and make sure you haven't inadvertently turned down the RF output power on the rig!
We are an Amateur Radio retailer. We have nothing to do with cell phones. I suggest you call Verizon Wireless with your concerns.
We do not repair radio equipment, but we can usually help get your broken or damaged gear to a service center that can. Give our Atlanta store a call and we'll help you get squared away. 770-263-0700
Masks are worn at all times by our employees; surfaces are disinfected regularly throughout the day; the number of customers allowed inside the store is limited to a maximum of 5 at a time (smaller stores allow fewer customers inside at a time); customers must wear a mask or face covering (those with medical conditions that preclude the wearing of a mask/face covering can pick up their purchases curbside); Online/Phone ordering is still available, as is curbside pickup.
Hi Joshua. We sell a very limited selection of CB radio equipment. If you go to the search feature on our website (direct link: https://www.hamradio.com/search_advanced.cfm) and search using the term "CB" you'll see everything related to CB. We sell a few different brands of CB radio, some antennas and miscellaneous equipment. Ham radio is our main focus, however.
Hi Ken, if you give our store a call the staff might know of local clubs to you that members that could help.
Hi Keith, we carry a few different books for getting your license. If you give us a call we will be happy to make some recommendations. Additionally, a great place to get information is from the National Association, here is a link: http://www.arrl.org/what-is-ham-radio
Hi Ray, please give our store a call and our staff can go over it with you.
If you call our store, we can help you find an antenna that will work for you!
No, they are not compatible.
Shortwave is listening to Hf bands HAM is broadcasting but the frequency range of both is similar. And HAM is way more fun KD4SEV
That's part of my reason for being a Ham radio operator. But it's not like CB radio...you have to pass a test to be licensed by FCC to operate. But Ham Radio Outlet will have what you need.
